USHJA Recognized Riding Academy Spotlight: JumpStart Training
Learn more about JumpStart Training, a Recognized Riding Academy in Issaquah, Washington.

Tell us a little about your program and who you serve.
JumpStart Training specializes in building a program to meet the needs of the horse and riders at their current level and discipline, creating achievable goals, and stretching their skills while progressing safely and patiently. We serve a wide variety of horses and riders from the adult getting back on to the brand new child.

What made you want to become a Recognized Riding Academy?
When I (Kirsten "Kiri" Farler-Smith) learned about the Recognized Riding Academy program and read that it acknowledges programs that emphasize horsemanship and sportsmanship and promote safety, I knew that I needed to become an approved RRA and accept the benefits because my Riding Program fit the guidelines to a tee.

Tell us about your star lesson horse and why he/she is the best lesson horse around!
JumpStart Training is lucky to have a fabulous group of horses, but I have to recognize the special mare that this program wouldn’t be in existence if not for her. The business’s logo is her silhouette. “Stella” is a kind, pretty mare that is great for both adult and child riders. This mare serves all levels beautifully as she is easy to ride for the beginner yet challenging enough for someone with experience. Stella loves the show ring and makes the perfect first show partner to learn on for a child or adult.

The scholarship is designed to encourage further education among equestrians. The USHJA Foundation awards up to $25,000 to be used for college, graduate, trade or professional school.
