Don't miss the Town Hall Meeting with Mary Babick
Mark your calendar for the USHJA Zone 9 Town Hall meeting July 26 during Oregon High Desert Classic II at J Bar J Ranch in Bend, Oregon.

The meeting will be in the VIP tent after all rings finish. USHJA President Mary Babick will be the moderator.

Topics of discussion will include Safe Sport, safety, concussion protocol, USHJA National Championships, new rules and more.

Congratulations to our Zone 9 members who participated in Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Sessions in the past month.

Grace Hill, 15, of Anacortes, Washington, participated in the session at L.A. Equestrian Center (pictured at right), and Hanna Morris, 17, of Issaquah, Washington, participated in the Mount Holyoke College session (pictured at left)!

Pony Finals riders prepare for a week of education and competition!

USHJA Board election nominations are open until August 15
Nominations are open for six USHJA Board of Directors positions—Secretary, Treasurer and four at-large directors. USHJA Senior Active and Associate members may nominate candidates for these open positions through their USHJA member account until August 15.
 
Members are allowed to nominate a single individual for multiple positions, and they may nominate themselves for any available position.

FEI North American Youth Show Jumping Championships coming up!
The FEI North American Youth Show Jumping Championships presented by USHJA are coming up Aug. 1-5 at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, New York! Good luck to our members participating!

Zone 9 EAP Grant Recipients
Congratulations to our Zone 9 EAP Grant recipients Elissa Ostroff and Hannah Morris, who each received a $500 grant toward expenses related to participating in a 2018 EAP Regional Training Session!
USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Northwest Championship is July 25-29
The opportunity to participate in one of the Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championships is coming up at Oregon High Desert Classic 2 July 25-29 in Bend, Oregon!

Each regional championship is two rounds and the combined total score for both rounds will determine the winner! Don't forget horses must be enrolled in the program to participate! Read more about these new championships here.

USHJA Zones 9 & 10 Jumper Team Championships

Qualifying period: Nov. 13, 2017-Sept. 24, 2018
For our Oregon riders, the Oregon Hunter Jumper Association has announced their process for qualifying for the USHJA Affiliate Championships, which will take place at the AON/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, Nov. 13-18.

These championships will consist of two sections - a 2' USHJA Hunter section and a 2'6" USHJA Hunter section. Interested riders should send an email of interest to Board member Elise Conlee eaconlee@yahoo.com by Friday, Aug. 3. Please include your name, your horse's name, and a brief statement of interest and availability to attend the championships.
