Monthly news & updates from the Community Development Partnership
February 2017

A Note from Jay
25 Years
Our Annual Meeting is such a great opportunity to reflect on the past year, look forward to the new one and connect with so many of you - our friends, supporters, partners and clients . And this year it's a special one, as it will be a kick-off for celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We're pleased to be holding it at Wellfleet Preservation Hall on Thursday, April 13th at 5:00 PM. We will once again elect new Board Members and Officers and present our two annual awards.

We created the Gwen Pelletier Award for Excellence in Community Service to honor former longtime CDP Executive Director, Gwen Pelletier for her years of service to the Lower Cape community . The award recognizes individuals, businesses or organizations for their involvement and support for maintaining the economic diversity of the Lower Cape .

The Norm Edinberg Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship was created to honor the late Norm Edinberg, former longtime CDP Board Member, for his years of service to the Lower Cape business community . The award recognizes an established Lower Cape business owner who has utilized CDP business and credit services, and who has an established community connection through social responsibility, environmental sustainability, volunteer time or financial contributions .

Nominations from the community for both awards are most welcome. You can find the nomination forms on the CDP's website, along with a list of past honorees, by clicking here. Nominations are due by Friday, February 24th.

I hope you will "save the date" and join us on April 13th for this annual celebration of the CDP's work to create opportunities for people to live, work and thrive on the Lower Cape ! Register here.

As always, thank you for your interest and support,

Jay - short

Safe, Stable, & Affordable Housing
Canal House

For 19 years, we've been providing a safe, supportive environment for people in recovery at Canal House. This home is for people on the path to sobriety and in need of both personal guidance and an affordable place to live. Since opening, 127 individuals have resided in the house.

An important component of each person's time at Canal House is their commitment to an individual treatment plan under the guidance of a Program Director from Gosnold on Cape Cod, with whom we have a collaboration. The plan and an environment free of external stresses provides a space for residents to focus on a successful recovery.

You can read more about one person's experience at Canal House on our website

SCORE mentors are all certified business professionals and have a variety of expertise. Being able to draw from such a team enables us to match a business owner according the specific needs of their business. Whether it be sales, marketing, financial management or recruiting staff, the resources are here. You can find out about upcoming counseling sessions below.
