Message from the RAP Assistant
September was a busy month for celebrating the Detroit River and sharing positive news about water quality and aesthetics. This month recognized World Rivers Day which fell on September 25th 2016, and the DRCC highlighted some great changes happening along the Detroit River. Two Beneficial Use Impairments (BUIs) have been re-designated to not impaired which include Degradation of Aesthetics and Beach Closures. We celebrated with the Windsor Port Authority and Windsor Adventure Inc. and shared what that means with the community.

Since starting in my new role with the DRCC, it has been so apparent how many people who live, work and play along the Detroit River are so passionate about it's health and role in our lives. I have had a great time meeting so many of you, and am looking forward to working with you throughout October. There are a lot of great things happening to connect us back to each other and the River over the next few weeks.

As always, we love to hear from you. If you have any upcoming events, questions, or feedback, please email postmaster@detroitriver.ca.

Thank you,
Gina Pannunzio,
Remedial Action Plan Assistant
