2019 FHBC Annual General Meeting

The Field Hockey BC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on February 9, 2019 in the City of Burnaby. The AGM venue is the Burnaby Lake West Complex (Meeting Room #1) at 1pm PST.

All documentation will be uploaded in advance of the AGM to the ' Documents' section of the Field Hockey BC website. Please note that a Nominations Form (Board of Director Elections) has been added at this time with a deadline date of January 25, 2019.
Apply for a GO/VIT Legacy Fund Grant!    Awards

Field Hockey BC, on behalf of the GO/VIT (Goldies Oldies/Vancouver International Tournament) Legacy Fund Trustees, is pleased to announce that the GO/VIT Legacy Fund is now accepting grant applications for projects designed to foster growth within the field hockey community. 

This intake is open to applications across all manner of projects, so if there is a coaching, officiating, athlete program, event, and/or voluntary program that could benefit from GO/VIT Legacy Fund support then please do not hesitate to complete an application. FHBC Mourns the Loss of Peter James

The Field Hockey BC community was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Peter James, a true character of the field hockey community. Peter James died on December 24, 2018, at age 64. Peter was affectionately and better known as "Leo" to his teammates and friends.

FREE Provincial Indoor Umpire Course!

Do you want to become a certified indoor umpire? Field Hockey BC is excited to be hosting a FREE Provincial Indoor Umpire course to support our indoor leagues and tournaments. 

This course will be held on Friday, February 1st from 6:30 - 9:30 PM at the Island Savings Centre in Duncan, BC. The deadline to register is January 18th, so make sure to act fast if you're interested!

Susan Ahrens is Appointed Interim CEO of Field Hockey Canada   CEO

Field Hockey BC is proud to congratulate Susan Ahrens, former FHBC Provincial Coach and Performance Manager, on being appointed as interim CEO of Field Hockey Canada.

Susan, Director of Hockey Development with Field Hockey Canada, will be acting in this role while the organization works to fill this position on a permanent basis. Her knowledge and leadership puts Field Hockey Canada in good hands throughout this transition! 

Field Hockey Canada is in the process of shortlisting CEO applicants with plans to fill the role by April 2019. 
Women's National Team Kicks Off 2019 with Test Series in China  WNT

The Canadian Women's National and Junior  National Teams are starting 2019 strong with a  three week training tour in China. The women left for China on January 10th and after a week of training, will be competing in six test matches starting this weekend.

FIH Launches New "FIH Live" Broadcast Platform  Live

We have some exciting news for field hockey fans!
On January 10th, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) launched  FIH Live, an international broadcast platform to share field hockey content with fans around the world. This is a great opportunity for those of you who can't get enough of exciting field hockey content. It is also an awesome way to generate interest from future fans who have yet to discover the sport!
