Register for Field Hockey BC Regional Trials
Field Hockey BC's 2019-20 Regional Program is currently accepting registrations for Regional Trials for the U18 Northwest Girls (Vancouver and North Shore). To start the registration process, go to https://www.fieldhockeybc.ca/fhbc/regionals.php.

U18 Southeast Girls and U18 Mainland Boys Regional Trials have already occurred on September 15, at Eric Hamber Secondary School, in Vancouver. Field Hockey BC would like to thank everyone who participated, from players to coaches, and supporting parents.

Opportunities for certified coaches in our Regional Programs
Field Hockey BC is now seeking expressions of interest for Certified Coaches to be involved in all Coaching areas within its upcoming high-performance Regional Programs for the Southeast (Tamanawis Park), Northwest (Rutledge Field) and Mainland (Eric Hamber) regions.

We are looking for Head and Assistant Coaches for the following High-Performance Programs:

U15 Female (30 Hours of training)
U15 Male (30 Hours of training)
U18 Female (40 Hours of training)
U18 Male (40 Hours of training)

For any FHBC coaching opportunity, honoraria is based on the level of NCCP Certification and the number of practice hours and tournament games in the program. Check the FHBC Coaching rates for details. Go here to submit your expression of interest.
Provincial Umpire Courses
FHBC is running a Provincial Umpire course in October. The cost is $60 for FHBC members and $85 for non-members. Courses are two sessions of 3 hours, including theory and exam. Participants are required to attend both sessions to be eligible to write the exam. Candidates must be a minimum of 13 years old by the end of the calendar year to register.

Dates: Tuesday, October 1st, and Tuesday, October 8th (registration cut off: Thursday September 26th) 
Location: Killarney Community Centre Room 201 – Music 
Times: October 1st 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm & October 8th 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Coaching opportunities in the Academy Development Program
FHBC’s Academy Development program is looking for part-time coaching staff for afternoons from 1-3pm in West Vancouver. Current coaches or experienced athletes can express interest by message to @fhbcacademy on social medias or email [email protected].
FHBC Membership still open for the 2019-20 season
Membership registration remain open for the 2019-20 season, which will be valid from September 1, 2019, until August 31, 2020. Have your FHBC Number and email address ready to start the process. All the fees remain the same from last season. For more information about FHBC's membership, the registration process and detailed fees, please access our Membership Page.

Canada Men's and Women's national team will face Ireland for a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo; men will play in BC
FIH Olympic Qualifier Draw defined a matchup between Canada and Ireland for both women’s and men’s national team. These encounters will decide who qualifies for next year’s Summer Olympics; whoever wins the two-game series will book their ticket to Tokyo 2020.

Ranked top-10 in the world, Canada men’s national team will have the advantage of playing the series at home. Field Hockey BC is excited to be a part of the FIH Olympic Qualifier and assist hosting this amazing event. The men’s series will happen on October 26 and 27, in the Lower Mainland (location yet to be confirmed). The women will play in Dublin, Ireland, on November 2 and 3.

2019 Golden Oldies Festival happening in Vancouver
The Golden Oldies Hockey Festival is currently taking place in Vancouver from until September 22, 2019. Established in 1979, the Golden Oldies Sporting movement has a strong relationship with mature age sports enthusiasts.

The festival happens every two years in different locations around the world and is open to men and women over the age of 35 regardless of athletic ability. Check out the Golden Oldies Hockey Festival's website for more information.
