Owen-Ames-Kimball Company welcomes Scott Schneider as project manager

Owen-Ames-Kimball Company (O-A-K), a construction contracting and management company in Fort Myers, has welcomed Scott Schneider to its team as a new project manager.
Originally from Michigan, Schneider brings more than 10 years of management experience to his position with O-A-K, including a well-rounded comprehension of operations ranging from mechanical, electrical and plumbing to budgeting and capital improvements. Prior to joining O-A-K, Schneider held past positions locally with Electronic System Services, Inc. and Ave Maria University, and in Michigan with Ford Motor Company and Capital Construction. He earned his associate's degree from Washtenaw Community College and his journeyman industrial electrician certification from Henry Ford Community College in Michigan.

Valerie's House children's Quilt to be Displayed on Capitol Hill and Across SW Florida to Commemorate Lost Loved Ones

The children of Valerie's House, Inc., a Southwest Florida nonprofit helping grieving families, have created a travelling Children's Grief Quilt that will be displayed starting the month of November at several businesses and schools in the area as well as in Congressman Frances Rooney's office in Washington, D.C. Each square of the children's quilt represents a memory they have about the person in their life who has died. The handmade quilt was made to bring attention to children grieving and spread awareness about the Valerie's House grief support program.  Nationally, 1 in 5 children will lose a parent or sibling before the age of 20.

Enjoying fireworks over the Caloosahatchee where it meets the Gulf is a fitting way to see 2017 give way to bigger and better things in the year to come, and Gather offers a great place to do it.
