Tollgate News
 Tollgate 4H Club

The Tollgate Farm 4-H Club is looking forward to another fun-filled year of hands-on learning, starting in September 2018. We will be kicking off the year with Salsa Night, a chance for the kids to sample what we grow by making their own salsa blends. The Club will be participating in PumpkinFest, with a farm stand and animal demonstrations - milking demos and maybe even an obstacle course. Of course we will continue our work in the garden and barn. We will also continue to explore food by making value-added products such as granola, fruit leather, and more. All this is just the first couple of months of the 4-H year.

Given our busy lives, why should your child join Tollgate Farm 4-H Club? Because they will....
*    Learn about agriculture and develop an understanding of where our food comes from
*    Spend time outside, exploring our environment
*    Learn goal setting, team work, problem solving and more
*    Be involved in community service
*    Be connected to 4-H offerings at the county and state level. This includes workshops, camps, councils and more
*    Have the opportunity to work on farm-based projects - a unique opportunity for suburban/urban youth who do not have a farm connection
*    Have many positive, memorable experiences at MSU Tollgate Farm

The kids have a wealth of opportunities for a membership cost of $20 per year per youth plus some time to spend at the farm!!!

Adult volunteers welcome - no kids required.
We need garden volunteers.
