Welcome to the Capitol Hill Community Council

Thanks everyone for their support. The group has been growing and engaging in so many interesting ways. It can only do that through your continued support.

Also, please bear with us as we move through these growing pains. Who would have thought that the biggest issue facing the group is where to find meeting space big enough.

Next Meeting - October 10th - 6pm - 12th Ave Arts Second Floor Meeting Room

Our next meeting is this Thursday. Come and meet your neighbors and find out more about the local issues on the upcoming election.

Strike Force Meeting a Success

We had our first "Strike Force Meeting". It was a great success. We decided to break down the tasks/areas like this:

  • Words - newsletter, advertising, social media, writeups
  • Laws - What are the rules of our organization
  • Money - It takes money to make things happen (grants, fundraising, etc)
  • Admin - Help with maintaining emails lists, helping with meeting setup, etc
  • Information - There is so much happening on Capitol Hill. How can we help each other find it.

If you are interested in any of these please fill out our new "Action Areas Survey"

Surveys are still live

The surveys are still live if you want to fill one out. We put together three short surveys. Please feel free to fill one out. We are sure you have an opinion, why not share it.

Caring for Capitol Hill Cleanups

October 13th is the second Sunday of the month which means it is a Caring for Capitol Hill Cleanup day. Meet at 1641 Nagle Place in the lobby at 10am to help making Capitol Hill a cleaner space. Bags and equipment will be provided. Check out the Caring for Capitol Hill Facebook page for more detail.

Thanks everyone for going to the CHBA event

The CHBA hosted an event at a/stir. We know a few of you made it and hope you had a good of time as we did.

Closing and Thanks

There is so much going on that we will probably have to move to twice monthly newsletter. If you would like to be on the monthly list feel free to drop us a line (chcc.officers@gmail.com)

Thanks for reading this far. We at the CHCC thank you for being engaged and understanding. Launching (or relaunching) a group like this is difficult. There are so many pieces to get right (from donations, website, etc) and all the pieces we don't (getting this newsletter out faster.

Let us (neighbors) work together to make Seattle (and the area beyond) a better place.

If we missed anything it wasn't intentional. Join our "Words" or "Information" group to help us do better.

(Also thanks for being kind to all the mistakes we have made and will make. We are doing our best.)
