Work more successfully with your clients with

Dissociative Identity Disorder:
Valuable Perspectives and Tools from
Structural Dissociation, Ego State Therapy
and EMDR Therapy

Co-Presented by Farnsworth Lobenstine, LICSW
and Gillian Clissold, LPC

"This is by far the best training I've attended in years, it was very informative with specific examples of applying techniques and strategies. Farnsworth and Gillian are very knowledgeable about the subject matter. (I think Gillian is "the bee's knees," I could watch her work all day)."
April 3, 2021 Attendee

The skill, humility and respect offered by both Farnsworth and Gillian was inspiring. The clarity and accessible nature at which both presenters offered their knowledge and experience was brilliant and helpful. I was impressed by the team work and mechanics of the presentations as well. Thank you and much gratitude to P. (client) for her gracious offering!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe the complex internal structure of clients with Dissociative Identity Disorder.
  • Identify when dissociative phobias are blocking EMDR therapy and several useful ways to lessen their impact.
  • Utilize newly learned skills to communicate more effectively with alters (Apparently Normal Parts/Emotional Parts), especially perpetrator introjects/imitator parts
  • Working through the Self, build communication and trust among parts of the personality.
  • Discuss several specific ways to use EMDR very early in treatment to stabilize clients with DID.
  • Explain how to empower the adult to take care of internal child parts and why we avoid the reification of child alters/Emotional Parts.
  • Identify when to work through the client and when to work directly with dissociated self- states.

"Thank you for a wonderful learning experience. The course not only provided exactly what I needed to add to my clinical knowledge base... [and] I also found moments of reassurance that fundamentally I have not made any substantial blunders so far as I move forward with my EMDR practice."
Richard Close, August 7, 2021 Attendee

Words from some of our other 2021 attendees:

"It was really fascinating watching how each session unfolded and the collaboration among parts."
"Learning the skills and then watching the example via video was awesome."

"Thank you, Gillian, for sharing your client and your work with us to encourage us."
