During this uncertain time,
Rebuilding Together Montgomery County has had to make some heart-breaking choices - as we all have. We have postponed our National [Re]Building Day and She Builds projects, canceled volunteer trainings, and suspended all repair work,

...critical repairs such as fixing leaking roofs, adding or repairing ramps or wheelchair lifts and railings, fixing broken windows, walls, and floors, fixing toilets and showers and heating and air conditioning units, and other repairs that can be lifesaving.

We know that behind every front door is a neighbor with a story of home...

... a single mother trying to make ends meet and raise her children while working three jobs. She can barely make the mortgage payments and put food on the table; she cannot afford to fix the leaking roof. And, now she cannot go to work at all.

... a senior citizen living alone in a house that was not built with any modern safety features. He has no ramp for the stairs, no grab bars to steady himself in the bathroom. After working his whole life, he has no retirement benefits and his social security is not enough to hire someone to do the repairs he can no longer do himself.

For the past 30 years, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County has worked tirelessly to ensure that, for neighbors struggling in unsafe, unhealthy homes, their story will have a happy ending. But in order to continue our life-changing - and lifesaving - work and create more stories of hope, we need help from you, especially now.

While we all endure this frightening time of uncertainty and the threat to our health and that of our loved ones, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County will continue our outreach to our clients, advising them on easy fixes in the home to get them through this difficult time, and reassuring them that, though they may be isolated, they are not alone.

We will be back to work [Re]pairing homes, [Re]vitalizing communities and [Re]building lives just as soon as we are allowed to do so.  And we need your support now to ensure that we will still be here -

as strong as we have been for the past 30 years - serving the needs of
Montgomery County's most vulnerable.

Thank you and be safe!
