Exit Paradise

Opens 12th July

Potsdam, Germany

Over 50 international artists (including Tom of Finland and Rinaldo Hopf), whose works explore themes ranging from eroticism to alienation and revolt to ritual, present diverse sensual, political, and surprising perspectives. The exhibition celebrates the 70th birthday of collector Timo Miettinen.

ÉAMON McGIVERN Legible to Desire

Opens 31st July

TOM House, Los Angeles

A new exhibition of paintings by current artist-in-residence Éamon McGivern. The series of oil paintings is based on original and archival photographs made and discovered at TOM House during his residency. "About half of the paintings are based on photographs of Tom’s friends and lovers here in L.A."

ÉAMON McGIVERN A/History

Through 31st August

San Francisco

New paintings by San Francisco-based artist Éamon McGivern. Drawing on personal memory and research in the GLBT Historical Society archives, McGivern offers portraits that reflect on the lives and legacies of Queer and Trans elders whose absence continues to shape contemporary life.

Homage: Queer lineages on video

Through 19th October

The exhibition brings together eight moving-image works by contemporary artists who use video and film-based installations to pay tribute to formative figures and overlooked histories and includes P. Staff’s The Foundation shot at TOM House, with choreographic sequences staged within a set.

Wish You Were Queer

Through 26th October

Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany

The exhibition presents works of art from the Middle Ages to the present day and demonstrates the highly fluctuating degree of visibility in images. In the works of over thirty artists, including Rinaldo Hopf and Tom of Finland, it uncovers the codes of same-sex desire and searches for sexual, romantic, and gender diversity in the images.

LIFE SEX LOVE

Through 30th August

Cologne, Germany

Presenting nine artists who deal with interpersonal relationships, closeness and anonymity and the associated longings and disappointments: Intimacy, vulnerability, emotionality and sexuality, whereby (explicit) erotic depictions are not necessarily in the foreground with a focus on Queer life.

Foundation Update

FXLK PLAY

Opens 13th September

West Hollywood, California

SAVE THE DATE | At TOM House, the artists-in-residence are at the center of this work. They don’t simply reflect Tom’s life, they continually remake it. The exhibition tends to this slippery legacy and to the role the Artists-in-Residence Program has played in shaping TOM's Foundation over the past fifteen years. It’s folk play, fuck play, fix play—a reference to an evolving constellation of pleasure, performance, and repair.

Tailpiece

Highlighting Robert Andy Coombs for

Disability Pride Month

Coombs’ photography explores the intersections of disability and sexuality. By capturing the overlap of relationships, caregiving, fetish, and sex he creates compelling and honest portraits.

These values also enliven, inspire, and embolden us to express ourselves and our Queerness through drawing, painting, sculpting, collaging, building, designing, singing, screaming, crying, persevering.
