Georgina partners with York Region to launch new economic development website | |
The Town has launched a new economic development website –choosegeorgina.ca. It is a comprehensive resource for talent and businesses considering Georgina as a place to call home, and for existing businesses looking to expand. The new site offers direct access to economic development information and allows you to view up-to-date interactive data, videos and testimonials, and stay up to date on economic development news through blogs.
In January 2023, the Regional Municipality of York announced a one-time funding opportunity for its municipalities through the FDI Partnership Fund. Georgina received $15,000 in grant funding, which was used in part to fund this project.

Have your say on a potential vendor program at Georgina's waterfront parks | |
The Town of Georgina is in the process of preparing Phase 3 of the Waterfront Parks Master Plan. Implementing a vendor program at the waterfront parks is being considered as part of this phase. Please provide your valuable input on the potential development of a vendor program through our survey, available until Oct. 3, 2023. Your comments are appreciated. Results from the survey will be provided to Council in an upcoming staff report. | |
Nominate a deserving business for a 2023 Business Excellence Award | |
Do you know a business, organization or employee who deserves to be recognized for the valuable contribution they make to our community? Nominate them for a Georgina Business Excellence Award. This year, 10 awards will be given out to businesses that go above and beyond, provide exceptional service, and make Georgina a great place to do business!
The deadline to make your nomination is Sunday, Oct. 15. Awards will be handed out at the 2023 Georgina Chamber of Commerce Georgina Business Excellence Awards and the Town of Georgina's Mayor and Council’s Milestone Awards in December.

Apply for Business Plan Bootcamp before applications close on Oct. 13 | |
Business Plan Bootcamp is an eight-week, free-of-charge educational entrepreneurship series that helps aspiring or existing business owners write and develop their business plan. Participants will learn from weekly on-demand workshops, meet with mentors and network with other business owners.
For established business owners or first-time founders, this program is designed to provide entrepreneurs with what they need to start or refine their business plan.
The program is open for application to entrepreneurs 18+ who reside in northern York Region, primarily in East Gwillimbury, Georgina and the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nations.
