In today’s political environment, now more than ever, elected officials and their public policy decisions have a profound impact on physicians and their patients.
The Columbus Medical Association and affiliates (COTS and the PCC) have joined together to form a local political action committee (PAC) that raises funds to support elected officials who are supportive of our work.
CMA PAC has only one fundraising event every year. Your contributions at this event are used to make donations to Central Ohio office holders and candidates that local doctors decide are supportive of the work and perspectives of the CMA, COTS, and PCC.
Committee Members invited Dr. Mysheika Roberts to be this year's special guest. As the City of Columbus Public Health Commissioner, Dr. Roberts is on the front line of dealing with challenges of leading quality public health services during an unprecedented time of dis-information about the science behind medicine. Dr. Roberts will share her perspectives and host questions on the many obstacles facing the practice of medicine during this era of an attitude of "medical freedom" that is exhibited by my policy makers, and members of the public.
