The Eden Reforestation Projects is a non-profit organization that is planting more than 67 different native tree species in northwestern Madagascar.
The trees are planted on different planting sites, ranging from mangrove estuaries to tropical dry deciduous forests.
Healthy native forests are evolving, creating a home to more than 200,000 species of plants and animals that don’t exist anywhere else in the world.
The project supports local and often impoverished people to become a driving force of global reforestation.
By employing local people to plant trees, Eden's reforestation projects in Madagascar create sustainable income and help alleviate the extreme poverty in the area.
Their work creates healthy native forests that support a variety of species, countering climate change and biodiversity loss.
