November 2018
Today's stories represent our organizational values of Impact, Choice, Heart and Partnership. Do you have a values story to share? Let us know.
Impact - Together we are making a difference!
Together, we raised more than $33,000 on Give to the Max Day to support our mission of advancing the quality of life for people with disabilities!  Your generous support means even more people can experience the dignity of work, the comforts of home, and opportunities to enjoy life surrounded by family, friends, co-workers and a community that cares. We are overwhelmed with gratitude by the outpouring of support from friends like you!

Heart - We are filled with gratitude!

As we enter the holiday season, we are so thankful for the wonderful people we serve, their families, our caring, hard-working staff, and everyone who supports Opportunity Partners. To reflect on gratitude at Opportunity Partners, we asked the people we serve to let us know what they are most thankful for. Check out their responses in this month's web blog!
Partnership - President & CEO Armando Camacho named to transition advisory board

Opportunity Partners' President & CEO Armando Camacho is among 29 leaders from across the state named to an advisory board to help Minnesota Governor-elect Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor-elect Peggy Flanagan transition into office. The group represents business leaders, local elected officials, faith leaders and advocates from many diverse organizations. Congratulations, Armando!

Choice - A safe, welcoming place for Mark

Thanks to your support, Mark has found a community in Opportunity Partners where he can grow, learn and contribute. His mom Patricia is so grateful for Opportunity Partners. "Because Mark cannot read, write or speak, Opportunity Partners gives him a place to take classes focused on life skills, and to work in a safe, consistent and supervised environment," she said. Opportunity Partners has become Mark's village. "I feel blessed that Opportunity Partners is there to support adults like Mark with special needs."

You can make a gift today and help more people feel a sense of belonging this holiday season and beyond. Because of you, we are celebrating 65 years of advancing the quality of life for people with disabilities!
Ramping up for 2019 MN Legislative session

Opportunity Partners is an active member of the Best Life Alliance, a statewide coalition of more than 130 organizations, people with disabilities, families and advocates for Minnesota's Home & Community-Based Services. Last July, a 7% cut to the rates individuals with disabilities use to access community services began to be rolled out. With services already facing a crisis-level workforce shortage, these rate reductions are further destabilizing an already fragile system. Addressing this issue has had broad-based bipartisan support in recent legislative sessions; we are now at the point where a solution cannot wait. Learn more about legislation that will be brought forth by the Best Life Alliance in 2019. Want to help in our advocacy efforts? Contact today.
