Volunteer Spotlight
Volunteers are the life blood of each job training site and it takes several individuals to make a class successful. This month, we're focusing on someone special who uses her gifts in many ways:
Kelly Evans, 49, is a proud resident of Petersburg, VA and has a long history of volunteering with Jobs for Life (JfL) since 2016.
"I started as a JfL facilitator with Into the Neighborhood at Richmond City Justice Center. Over the years I have been a mentor and instructor with Youth Life Foundation of Richmond, that has a teen after-school program, and I am also an instructor at the Central Goochland job training site". Kelly has discovered her niche as a skilled facilitator and currently is also a JfL national instructor with a virtual class being held in Texas.
"Jobs for Life resonates with me by seeing people step into a place of believing in themselves, and I get to journey alongside them and watch their transformation into a stronger relationship with God while obtaining meaningful work," she said.
Kelly is willing to help the JobsRVA network grow where ever she can be used. "I am a triple A: an advocate, I will make "asks", and a willing ambassador for JobsRVA. I encourage everyone to find ways to help JobsRVA's mission through being a Champion, a class facilitator, bringing meals to a class or by making a financial contribution. It's definitely a worthwhile investment."
