“Anywhere but here.  Anything but this.  Any life but mine.”  Our guide, Evagrius called this temptation acedia.  It's a general restlessness, boredom, and discontent with your life as it is.  It tempts you to disconnect at work and home, to fantasize about a life somewhere else with someone else, to retreat to mindless entertainment to dull the pain–or worse.  Its goal is abandonment.  Your only hope against this attack is Jesus–He’s the only one who makes all things new.

The Dementia Caregiver Support will be hosting a "Dealing With Dementia Workshop" on Friday, October 2nd from 9AM-1PM (lunch provided) at Clinton Methodist Church. There is limited availability and reservations are required! Please call 478-986-3668.

This month our Happy Hearts Senior Adult Group will take a trip to Dauset Trails in Jackson, GA and have a picnic lunch on the grounds. Church bus will leave from Gray Methodist at 9:00AM on Thursday September 24th. RSVP with Chris Smarr 478-447-2379
