Part 5: Everybody Hurts
Text: Matthew 26:36-46a


We've been walking through the ancient list of evil thoughts that try to pull us away from God, and this week Pastor Brian takes on one every single one of us knows personally: sadness.

Using Jesus's night in the Garden of Gethsemane, we'll watch the same grief lead two completely different places, depending on what happens in the first few moments after it shows up. Jesus brings his sorrow straight to the Father. His closest friends, carrying that same weight, fall asleep instead.

This isn't a sermon about whether you'll feel sad — you will, and that’s not a faith failure. It's about where you take it when you do.

Come as you are this Sunday. Bring whatever you're carrying.

Our Women's Bible Study group meets Wednesdays at 6:30PM upstairs in the Youth Room.

Men, this Fall, Fight Club is digging into a modern, Christian classic on being a Christian man--John Edredge's Wild at Heart.  God designed men to be powerful, but somewhere between boyhood and the expectations of adulthood, we lost heart. Passion and dreams get buried by deadlines and disappointment. This study will help you uncover a biblical picture of who God created you to be as a man and rediscover your passion to fight for those you love and this world.

Don't forget to pick up your Boston Butts and Brunswick Stew on Saturday, September 5th between 8AM and 12Noon in the parking lot at Gray Methodist!
