August 2 - Call to Feed the Hungry Sunday
9:45-10:15, Blue Room
Join us in the Blue Room to learn
- who are the hungry in Texas
- what is changing in SNAP that increases the risk of hunger
- what we can do as a faith community
"When Jesus fed the five thousand, he did not turn people away. On August 2, we are invited to do the same — to open our doors, gather our communities, and raise our voices for the millions of Texans who depend on SNAP to eat."
Call to Feed the Hungry is a diocesan-wide movement led by the Episcopal Health Foundation. Read more.

Blessing LJI Teachers and Staff
Monday, August 3, 6:30am
One of the simplest ways we can share God’s love is through acts of kindness. Join Pastor Robin as we deliver donuts, coffee, and encouragement to the teachers and staff at LJI as they begin a new school year.
We’re looking for volunteers to help provide coffee, create a welcome poster, order and pick up donuts, and help with delivery. A sign-up sheet will be available in the hallway, or you can text Pastor Robin at 832-922-7022 if you’d like to help.

Support CASA Kids - Backpacks & School Supplies
Please help kids served by Gulf Coast CASA to have a more normal back-to-school experience. We are collecting school supplies and backpacks in the red buckets in the hallway. If you already donated, then THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! We have received generous supply and monetary donations.
CASA is helping over 150 kids in this region alone. These kids are from a range of age groups. I took a look at donations so far, and the top needs are:
- TOP - plastic folders with pockets and brads, (brads are those little metal clips for 3-hole paper)
- TOP - 3 hole notebook paper, wide rule
- TOP - washable markers, (Crayola brand)
- crayon packs, (Crayola brand)
- composition books, wide rule
- spiral notebooks, wide rule
- glue sticks
- colored pencil sets
If you prefer, you can donate cash. Please make your check or digital donation to St. Timothy's, and note that it's for the Back-to-School Drive in the memo area or choose Outreach for Online giving. We'll use monetary donations to purchase supplies and extra backpacks in bulk.
Please plan to make your donation by Sunday, August 2.
On Saturday, August 8 at 12:00, we will meet in the Parish Hall to stuff the donated school supplies into the backpacks. This is a family-friendly activity, and kids are encouraged to help. Pita pizza lunch will be provided.
Contact Sondra Griner with any questions or suggestions you might have.

Around the Circle: Celebrating the Church Year
Some books gently invite children into the story of faith, and Around the Circle by Laura Alary is one of them. With warmth, wonder, and beautiful imagery, it helps young readers experience the rhythms of the church year in a way that feels welcoming and full of hope.

Altar Flowers
In 2026, our set of 2 Altar floral arrangements will be present at regular St. Timothy’s Sunday services only on the occasions when parishioners provide flowers for special thanksgivings or remembrances. Floral arrangements may be given in memory, thanksgiving or celebration of whomever and/or for whatever the person/family donating flowers chooses for that selected Sunday. A pamphlet by the Flower Chart in the Narthex outlining this process is available. Please do note on our wall-mounted flower chart the Sunday(s) you wish to provide flowers and sign on that date. We have 2 local floral shops—Carriage Flowers and LJ Flower Co.—we use. By the Monday or Tuesday of the week before your selected Sunday contact your choice of shop to arrange for and pay the flower shop directly for your 2 arrangements order. You will no longer provide a check to St. Timothy’s for flowers. Kim Lehnhoff will coordinate flowers and is available to help with any step in the process of arranging for your flowers. Contact Kim at (979) 299-9777 or email kim60lehn@gmail.com with questions or for help.
