A Word from Pastor Robin

Keep Your Lamp Burning

“Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” — Matthew 25:13

Have you ever felt as though your lamp was running low?

Life has a way of draining us. Grief, uncertainty, responsibilities, disappointment, and even the busyness of doing good things can leave us feeling spiritually exhausted.

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of ten bridesmaids waiting for the bridegroom. All ten have lamps. All ten are invited to the celebration. And all ten grow tired and fall asleep while waiting.

But only five have brought enough oil to keep their lamps burning.

I find it comforting that Jesus doesn’t criticize them for getting tired. The difference is whether they have prepared for the long wait.

Perhaps that is an important lesson for us. Faith isn’t about never getting tired. It’s about tending our relationship with God so that we have something to draw upon when life gets hard.

So what replenishes the oil in your lamp?

For some, it is worship and receiving Holy Communion. For others, it is prayer, Scripture, silence, time in nature, creative expression, or serving someone in need. These are not simply things we should do. They are opportunities to receive God’s grace and be renewed.

As we move beyond our stewardship ingathering and begin another season of ministry together, I wonder if God is inviting us to consider how we steward not only our financial resources, time, and talents, but also our spiritual lives.

We cannot continually pour ourselves out without making room to be filled.

And here’s the good news: We don’t have to create the light. Christ is the light! Our calling is to remain connected to him and allow his love to shine through us.

This Sunday, we’ll reflect on what it means to keep our lamps burning, especially during seasons of waiting, weariness, and uncertainty.

I invite you to come with one question on your heart:

What is replenishing the oil in my lamp, and what is draining it?

May we be a community that helps one another tend the flame of faith, making plenty good room for God’s love to shine through us into the world.

Keep your lamp burning. The light of Christ is worth sharing!

With love and hope,

Pastor Robin+

Art Sale Benefitting Choral Scholars

Now available - 25 prints of the original “Open Heaven" by Pastor Robin. The price unframed is $15 per image. Funds raised go Choral Scholars to help enrich our worship

Support our Choral Scholars program

Choral Scholars are college or upper high school students that are recruited to sing in the Chancel Choir. We've lost many members in the last few years, so these extra voices enable us to continue the musical traditions of St. Timothy's. We also see it as a ministry, to love and support young musicians as they grow both musically and spiritually.

These students are paid a small stipend for their time and talents. As you consider your giving this year, I invite you to consider supporting this program. $50 will sponsor a Choral Scholar for one week of rehearsals and services. $200 will sponsor a month of music. EVERY DOLLAR helps us continue bringing our music to worship each week.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

St. Timothy’s Brotherhood of St. Andrew Tamale Fundraiser

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is once again having a tamale fundraiser to support our various outreach ministries. The cost will be $15.00/dozen with pick-up in the Parish Hall either from 10:30 am-12:00 am Friday December 4th (when they will still be hot) or 8:30 am - noon on Sunday December 6th. NOTE: Health Department regulations now prevent our supplier from delivering on weekends.

Order forms will be available in the Church office and in the Welcome Center in the weeks prior to pick-up, starting Sunday, October 18th. All orders must be in no later than Friday, November 20th. Please complete the forms and turn them in the designated baskets in either the Church office or the Welcome Center. Please make checks payable to St. Timothy’s.

Confirmation Service Project

On Sunday, our young folks learned about what it means to be unhoused, and then packed up Blessing Bags that we can give to homeless or struggling individuals who come by St. Timothy's looking for help. Thanks to those of you who contributed gift cards, plasticware, socks and sewn bags!

Thanksgiving Food Drive THANKS

This week, we delivered 166 jars of peanut butter. That exceeds our goal of 144 jars!

We also dropped off your donations of food (tuna - yay!), hygiene items, bags and egg cartons.

Thank you for your generosity to our neighbors who need help feeding themselves and their families!

Greenery Sale

Altar Guild Fundraiser

Your St. Timothy's Altar Guild is again hosting our Christmas Greenery Fundraiser for 2026. Christmas Greenery purchased from Sherwood Forest Farms, located in the Pacific Northwest, supplies beautiful holiday greenery to provide the beauty of the Christmas Season! Proceeds from this fundraiser directly support St. Timothy's Altar Guild and the beautiful Eucharistic Table we feast at each Sunday.

Be on the lookout for our flyers, handouts, with QR codes for ordering greenery because our sale kicks off next week, October 8th. The last day to order is November 8th. Ordering online or on your phone is a breeze! We will also have a box for traditional order forms and checks, (made payable to St. Timothy's--please note on the Memo line: Altar Guild Greenery), in our narthex and office. Kim Lehnhoff will be available on Sundays to help with and support orders by check or any online order question. The delivery window for the greenery is after Thanksgiving until December 10th -ish—just in time for the Christmas Season.

Our goal is $1800 in sales with hopefully 50%-ish in funds for Altar Guild returning to us.

Contact Kim Lehnhoff for information about our fundraiser or joining Altar Guild. We’d love to have you on our Ministry Team!

Tabatha's Guild (Sewing)

The sewing room will be open on Saturday from 2-4PM. We will also be available for anyone who has a project or wants to learn using our supplies.

Altar Flowers

In 2026, our set of 2 Altar floral arrangements will be present at regular St. Timothy’s Sunday services only on the occasions when parishioners provide flowers for special thanksgivings or remembrances. Floral arrangements may be given in memory, thanksgiving or celebration of whomever and/or for whatever the person/family donating flowers chooses for that selected Sunday. A pamphlet by the Flower Chart in the Narthex outlining this process is available. Please do note on our wall-mounted flower chart the Sunday(s) you wish to provide flowers and sign on that date. We have 2 local floral shops—Carriage Flowers and LJ Flower Co.—we use. By the Monday or Tuesday of the week before your selected Sunday contact your choice of shop to arrange for and pay the flower shop directly for your 2 arrangements order. You will no longer provide a check to St. Timothy’s for flowers. Kim Lehnhoff will coordinate flowers and is available to help with any step in the process of arranging for your flowers. Contact Kim at (979) 299-9777 or email kim60lehn@gmail.com with questions or for help.
