Greetings from Clergy Conference
Grace and peace to you Beloved of God from clergy Conference at Camp Allen. It’s been a full week of fellowship, learning and a bit of rest.
My favorite workshop was presented by one of your own, Rev. Will Parker. He presented how improved skills can help us love well. You can see the list on screen. Listening with an intention to make the other person a success was thought provoking!
The focus of our three days was hunger. We heard from many leading experts. It’s not what you think. The solution is connection, community, collaboration.
There is still an opportunity to sign up to show your support to have our legislators support SNAP. You can sign up here or on the sign up sheet in the Hall. Your information will not be shared or stored beyond the legislative office.
| | | Meet Your Vestry Nominees | | On November 1, we will meet after the 10:30 service for our Stewardship In-Gathering and Fall Parish Meeting. During the meeting, we will vote on our vestry nominees. | |

Ellen Adriance
1. What is your occupation and how would your gifts and experiences contribute to the functioning of the vestry? Retired analyst/project management/educator instructional design: organizational skills and educational systems planning, project implementation.
2. Our parish’s mission is “Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we experience God's love and share it.” What does this statement mean to you personally? This allows for each person to bring their gifts as motivated through their heart and experience, providing variety in offering gifts and sincerity in how we express and share God’s love.
3. What would you consider to be the top priority for St. Timothy’s in this season of our parish’s common life? My involvement at St. Timothy’s has not been deep or varied enough to offer insight or direction, however my skills and willingness for service will support the choices of the vestry.

1. What is your occupation and how would your gifts and experiences contribute to the functioning of the vestry? As a retired coach/teacher, my gifts of a common sense approach, organization, team leading and management skills contribute to the efficient functioning of a vestry. My gifts of patience, thoroughness and attention to detail benefit a vestry.
2. Our parish’s mission is “Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we experience God's love and share it.” What does this statement mean to you personally? Inviting and welcoming individuals and families to St. Timothy's means many things. In the past, when tradespeople have come to our parish for work and they indicate they are looking for a church, I invite them. When people are new to our church services, I welcome them just as I welcome our long-time members. Inviting and welcoming is an ongoing process of positive attitude and hospitality.
3. What would you consider to be the top priority for St. Timothy’s in this season of our parish’s common life? In my mind the ongoing maintenance and the continued fiscal responsibility to use funds to promote our parish, ministries, and mission is the top priority for St. Timothy's.

1. What is your occupation and how would your gifts and experiences contribute to the functioning of the vestry? As a real estate agent/Broker, I’ve had the pleasure to assist and provide direction to many individuals, families and businesses to navigate purchasing and/or selling properties. To do that well, it’s helpful to have a servant’s heart and to be aware of and inform them of all pertinent information needed to make a good decision. That often meant researching relevant information at City Halls and County entities, from inspectors, insurers and always continuing education. As a business owner, marketing skills were a necessary priority.
Along the way, I have served on numerous boards and commissions and served three+ terms as an elected Angleton City Councilperson. Responsibilities included budget decisions and strategic planning. I’m currently serving on the board of directors of the Angleton Area Emergency Medical Corps, a non-profit EMS serving the greater Angleton area.
2. Our parish’s mission is “Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we experience God's love and share it.” What does this statement mean to you personally? Our parish’s mission to share God’s love means the Holy Spirit is among us and as we experience God’s love we are led to love others and share our time and selves prayerfully with each other. God’s love overflows into relationships in our families, with friends and our community and is expressed through service, sharing, caring and sometimes just being there.
3. What would you consider to be the top priority for St. Timothy’s in this season of our parish’s common life? A top priority for St Timothy’s is to welcome new families so they can know and feel God’s love with us.

Alison Rule
1. What is your occupation and how would your gifts and experiences contribute to the functioning of the vestry? I am a capital project manager for a chemical company. In this role, I bring various people together to agree on project objectives, scope, and implementation plans. I also put together bid packages and submit them to contractors. Then I review the bids to ensure they are technically comparable and the project requirements are met. This experience could be very applicable if there are upcoming projects for the church. But even in a more general sense, I have a gift for getting a team on the same page by listening to viewpoints and finding common ground.
2. Our parish’s mission is “Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we experience God's love and share it.” What does this statement mean to you personally? To me, the action word is “share” – we should share not only God’s word, but our time and any other blessings we can. This might be donations of material items or volunteer time, but to me it also means being a compassionate listener, offering encouragement, and stepping up to help others.
3. What would you consider to be the top priority for St. Timothy’s in this season of our parish’s common life? I believe a church should always seek to grow its congregation, but based on seeing the same handful of people filling a variety of roles in the church, I think finding more volunteers should be a high priority. I didn’t get involved as a videographer until I was asked - in part because I didn’t realize there was a need and in part because I didn’t know what the role required. I think these are two questions that could easily be answered and posted where the congregation can review.

3Q2026 Finance Health Check is Good!
• Expenses are still tracking below budget, reflecting effective spending controls and timing of planned expenditures.
• Ministry leaders have done a fantastic job of fund raising/donations to fund their ministries!
• Income is slightly above plan for pledges, regular gifts are slightly below budget.
• Lower expenses and on-track pledge income have resulted in a balanced budget through the third quarter. Let's keep it going.
• Every gift, no matter the size, helps share God's love, support ministry, and impact lives in our community. Thank you for your faithful generosity!!!

Greenery Sale
Altar Guild Fundraiser
Your St. Timothy's Altar Guild is again hosting our Christmas Greenery Fundraiser for 2026. Christmas Greenery purchased from Sherwood Forest Farms, located in the Pacific Northwest, supplies beautiful holiday greenery to provide the beauty of the Christmas Season! Proceeds from this fundraiser directly support St. Timothy's Altar Guild and the beautiful Eucharistic Table we feast at each Sunday.
Be on the lookout for our flyers, handouts, with QR codes for ordering greenery because our sale kicks off next week, October 8th. The last day to order is November 8th. Ordering online or on your phone is a breeze! We will also have a box for traditional order forms and checks, (made payable to St. Timothy's--please note on the Memo line: Altar Guild Greenery), in our narthex and office. Kim Lehnhoff will be available on Sundays to help with and support orders by check or any online order question. The delivery window for the greenery is after Thanksgiving until December 10th -ish—just in time for the Christmas Season.
Our goal is $1800 in sales with hopefully 50%-ish in funds for Altar Guild returning to us.
Contact Kim Lehnhoff for information about our fundraiser or joining Altar Guild. We’d love to have you on our Ministry Team!

Tabatha's Guild (Sewing)
We have a new project! For the Blessing Bags, (see the article above,) we need about 20 simple backpacks. We already have eleven, so if we get just a small group together, we could whip them out in a matter of a couple of hours. We have plenty of supplies.
As usual, the sewing room will be open on Saturday from 2-4PM. We will also be available for anyone who has a project or wants to learn using our supplies.

Altar Flowers
In 2026, our set of 2 Altar floral arrangements will be present at regular St. Timothy’s Sunday services only on the occasions when parishioners provide flowers for special thanksgivings or remembrances. Floral arrangements may be given in memory, thanksgiving or celebration of whomever and/or for whatever the person/family donating flowers chooses for that selected Sunday. A pamphlet by the Flower Chart in the Narthex outlining this process is available. Please do note on our wall-mounted flower chart the Sunday(s) you wish to provide flowers and sign on that date. We have 2 local floral shops—Carriage Flowers and LJ Flower Co.—we use. By the Monday or Tuesday of the week before your selected Sunday contact your choice of shop to arrange for and pay the flower shop directly for your 2 arrangements order. You will no longer provide a check to St. Timothy’s for flowers. Kim Lehnhoff will coordinate flowers and is available to help with any step in the process of arranging for your flowers. Contact Kim at (979) 299-9777 or email kim60lehn@gmail.com with questions or for help.
