Welcome Rev. Carla Aslakson-Yarnal
Dear Beloved,
Join me in welcoming one of your own, Carla Aslakson-Yarnal, as our guest preacher this Sunday—and as a newly ordained Episcopal deacon in the Diocese of Rochester, New York. Carla was ordained to the diaconate in June 2025. After many years of discernment, she finally said yes to God’s call.
For many years, Carla served as a counselor working with people struggling with addiction. She thought she had found her calling—and perhaps she had. But God, as God so often does, had something more in mind.
It seems God is calling Carla to be a bridge between the world and the Church. And that is, in many ways, the heart of the ministry of a deacon: standing at the threshold between the Church and the world, carrying the needs of the world into the Church and carrying the love of Christ from the Church back out into the world.
And Carla isn’t the only one. Over these past few years, we have watched several people who grew up here at St. Timothy’s begin to hear and respond to God’s call to ministry. There seems to be something about this place that raises up leaders. We celebrate the new calls to ministry by past members: Chris Weis has been called as assistant rector in Florida, Stephanie Townes new call to ministry in Ohio, and Will Parker in Houston. We also celebrate the Revs. Genevieve Turner-Razim and Sharon Turner in Austin.
Perhaps that is one of the gifts of St. Timothy’s—not simply being a place where people come to worship, but being a place where people discover who God is calling them to be.
So today, we celebrate Carla, we give thanks for her yes, and we welcome her home.
Carla, we are grateful that you are sharing your ministry and your gifts with us. And we are proud to call you one of our own.
What might God be calling you to today?
In Hope,
Pastor Robin+

Eucharisto: A Life of Thanksgiving
What if the Eucharist is more than something we receive on Sunday? What if it is a way of living?
The word Eucharist comes from the Greek word eucharistia, meaning thanksgiving. When we gather around the table, we give thanks for God’s goodness, remember Christ’s life, death and resurrection, and receive God’s grace.
But Eucharisto also invites us to offer.
We bring bread and wine, but we also bring ourselves—our gifts, our time, our stories, our abundance, and sometimes what feels like our “not enough.” Like the boy who offered his five loaves and two fish, we may wonder what difference our small offering can make. Yet Jesus invites us to bring it anyway.
And we bring our wounds, too.
The Eucharist reminds us that redemption is possible. God does not erase our difficult experiences or pretend that our wounds were good. Instead, Christ can transform even our broken places into places where grace, compassion and love can grow.
Throughout September, we will explore Eucharisto: a life of thanksgiving, offering and trust. Pick up a Eucharisto Bingo card and practice noticing God’s gifts in the ordinary moments of your life. Give thanks. Offer what you have—even when it doesn’t feel like enough. Bring your wounds to Christ. Look for places where grace is being revealed.
Because we don’t just come to the Eucharist to watch.
We come to participate.
God’s Peace and Joy!

Vestry Nominations are Open
It's vestry Nomination time. The deadline for Nominations is September 15. Elections are in October. There are four vestry members going off vestry, leaving three. Meetings are typically on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30-7:30 or 8 pm. Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you for this important role. Attached here is a list of requirements. Please don’t hesitate to ask Rebecca or Pastor Robin or any vestry member questions.
The outgoing vestry members will form a committee to receive nominations. Forms can be filled out and left in the office or with Rebecca Klimek, outgoing Senior Warden.
Please join us in praying: Lord, please raise up the best leaders for our vestry for such a time as this that will help us fulfill your plans and purposes for St. Timothy’s, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Altar Flowers
In 2026, our set of 2 Altar floral arrangements will be present at regular St. Timothy’s Sunday services only on the occasions when parishioners provide flowers for special thanksgivings or remembrances. Floral arrangements may be given in memory, thanksgiving or celebration of whomever and/or for whatever the person/family donating flowers chooses for that selected Sunday. A pamphlet by the Flower Chart in the Narthex outlining this process is available. Please do note on our wall-mounted flower chart the Sunday(s) you wish to provide flowers and sign on that date. We have 2 local floral shops—Carriage Flowers and LJ Flower Co.—we use. By the Monday or Tuesday of the week before your selected Sunday contact your choice of shop to arrange for and pay the flower shop directly for your 2 arrangements order. You will no longer provide a check to St. Timothy’s for flowers. Kim Lehnhoff will coordinate flowers and is available to help with any step in the process of arranging for your flowers. Contact Kim at (979) 299-9777 or email kim60lehn@gmail.com with questions or for help.
