Purim at Weizmann
On Tuesday, March 10 please send your child to school dressed in a comfortable costume which will be worn all day. For safety reasons, we ask that no one wear masks, and violent or macabre characters and weapons are not allowed. If you child prefers not to dress in costume a Weizmann t-shirt is perfectly fine.
Everyone will be able to partake of fun and treats at our Annual School Purim Carnival, held in the Social Hall, which will begin at 11:00am.
The students will be exchanging Mishloah Manot, "food gift bags". Each student is asked to prepare a decorated paper bag at home filled with three different kosher food items (e.g. a granola bar, piece of fruit, bag of chips, etc.) that will be exchanged within each classroom. No nuts please!! Unfortunately, if your children do not bring in a bag there will not be any extra bags to receive. This is a one-to-one exchange.
The mitzvah of Matanot L'Eviyonim, giving "gifts that help those in need" will be observed by each student bringing in a can or box food item to be donated to Friends in Deed. These items may be brought in any time up until March 10.
This Tuesday and Wednesday we welcomed the new Jewish month of Adar. Mi Shenikhnas Adar Marbim Simha, "Entering the Month of Adar Brings Happiness". Hearing about all the fun-filled festivities we have planned for the month we hope you will agree that celebrating Purim at Weizmann is definitely happy!
