Dress Code

The dress code standards are an essential component to St. Barnabas School. Staff performs a daily uniform check and the policy is enforced. As the weather cools, we want to share a reminder of what is allowed when layering up.

  • Jacket: black or gray fleece or sherpa with SB logo
  • Quarter-zip: white, black, red, navy, gray, or green with SB logo
  • Crewneck sweatshirt: solid-color white, gray, black, red or navy with SB logo (the new gray SB Parish sweatshirt that was sold at Fall Fest is allowed!)
  • Sweaters: long sleeve cardigan or pullover in solid color white, black, red or navy
  • Hoodie sweatshirts are NOT allowed. Team jerseys or team sweatshirts are also NOT allowed as part of regular school day uniforms.

  • Tights: Solid tights or leggings (with socks) in non-distracting colors are allowed under jumpers and skirts.
  • Extra Layers: Extra layering worn to school under skirts and jumpers must be removed during the school day.
  • Leg warmers, pajama bottoms, and sweatpants are NOT allowed.

Earlier this week, individual diagnostic results from the beginning of the year assessment were emailed home. iReady is the Arch wide educational assessment. This nationally normed test is completed three times per year: September, January and May. If you have questions about your child’s scores, you may first connect with their Math or ELA teacher to discuss the results.

Hispanic Heritage Month & Ofrenda Altar

Our 2022-2023 Culture Club has expanded at SB! We now have over 20 members in Culture Club from grades 6-8! We are so excited for what this school year will bring with new students and new ideas! We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in October and to kick off the festivities we are creating an Ofrenda (offering) in the main lobby to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Families are asked to add to our altar by sharing a photo of someone special that has passed on. In Hispanic Culture an ofrenda is an altar built to honor lost loved ones. Photos and offerings are displayed to help us remember, celebrate, and honor their lives. Please bring your photos or offerings (plastic food or symbols) with your child's first + last name and homeroom to add to our Ofrenda. These will be returned at the end of the month. We looked forward to honoring our lost loved ones as a community because we belong to each other.

Ofrenda offerings may be given to Ms. Natalie Malinowski or Ms. Gloria Montiel.
