Hispanic Heritage Month & Ofrenda Altar
Our 2022-2023 Culture Club has expanded at SB! We now have over 20 members in Culture Club from grades 6-8! We are so excited for what this school year will bring with new students and new ideas! We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in October and to kick off the festivities we are creating an Ofrenda (offering) in the main lobby to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Families are asked to add to our altar by sharing a photo of someone special that has passed on. In Hispanic Culture an ofrenda is an altar built to honor lost loved ones. Photos and offerings are displayed to help us remember, celebrate, and honor their lives. Please bring your photos or offerings (plastic food or symbols) with your child's first + last name and homeroom to add to our Ofrenda. These will be returned at the end of the month. We looked forward to honoring our lost loved ones as a community because we belong to each other.
Ofrenda offerings may be given to Ms. Natalie Malinowski or Ms. Gloria Montiel.
