THE TESLA STEM PTSA NEEDS YOU!!
The Tesla STEM High School PTSA invites you to join us in supporting the students, families, teachers and staff of our school. By becoming a member, you are advocating for the safety, health, welfare and education of all our students. Nominating Committee Volunteers Needed
We are currently seeking 3 PTSA members to serve on the Nominating Committee. This short-term committee will be elected at the January 8, 2020 Membership Meeting. The committee’s role after the meeting is to put together a slate of candidates for the 2020 – 2021 Tesla STEM PTSA Executive Board.

Tesla STEM PTSA Programs' survey
Please help us by taking a survey about ACT and SAT options offered by the  Tesla STEM PTSA Programs   Team.  The PTSA supports our students who prepare to take the SAT and ACT test in the following ways:
  • We put together SAT and ACT Mock Practice Tests in September.
  • We also set up an 8 week long SAT Test Prep Course (Fall) and ACT Test Prep Course (Spring) held on Tuesdays after school. This includes four practice tests on weekends as part of the course.
  • The companies we hire to teach the prep courses are excellent. We make use of PTSA volunteer chaperones and school district facilities in order to keep costs down. Thanks to your volunteer efforts the prices for the prep courses Tesla Stem PTSA can offer range from $ 390-450 as compared to a price of about $1200 if you purchased that service directly from a similar company.

Scholarship Basket Auction - December 5th
Spread the word. Basket photos and descriptions will be available for viewing on the LWPTSA website . Baskets will be on display in the lobby of the LWSD Resource Center and available for silent auction bidding from Nov 7th to Dec 5th, 2019.
The basket auction reception will be held from 10:00 am - 11:30 am, December 5th (following a brief council meeting) at the LWSD Resource Center in Redmond Town Center.

WA State PTA Game Development Competition
The WSPTA/Game Development Competition is a STEM-based program, introduced in 2016, to encourage and support student success. Students in grades 9-12 attending a school with a PTA in good standing may participate and share their knowledge of computer science based on an assigned theme. This year's theme is Animals .
The competition provides an opportunity for students, either individually or in teams of up to six members, to use their creative talents and express themselves by developing a computer game. Students’ submissions are judged in the following areas: game of the year, arts and animation, game design, programming (code), and audio design. 
The online intent to submit forms are due January 15, 2020, and information can be found  here .
All Aboard the Advocacy Bus!
Sign up to ride in style and comfort with fellow LWPTSA advocates to Olympia for Focus Day on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 20th, 2020! Members meet with legislators, tour the capitol, and demonstrate advocacy in action.

Note: Children are welcome on the bus as long as they are accompanied by a parent.
