We had a great week of teaching and learning in Cougar Country!

 

Calendar Reminder-As a reminder October 3rd and October 4th are teacher workdays. School will not be in session this Thursday and Friday.


Lunch Visitors-As a reminder lunch visitors start on October 11th.


Bell Schedule-The bell schedule for our primary campus is 7:45am-2:45pm. Students can enter the building at 7:15am. The bell schedule for our intermediate campus is 8:00am-3:00pm. Students can enter the building at 7:30am. Our school offices open at 7:00am and close at 3:15pm. Please know that students cannot be dropped off in the morning prior to the first bell ringing. Additionally, students cannot have an early dismissal after 2:00pm in the afternoon. It is extremely important that students arrive on time and remain throughout the school day. 

 

Transportation Changes-As a reminder all transportation changes have to occur by 12:00pm each day. Please call the front office to alert the office team of any needed transportation changes by 12:00pm.

Parent Social - Save-the-Date

Come fiesta with the PTA at our annual Parent Social! Join us on Tuesday, October 1 from 6:30-8:30pm at Superica, located in the Strawberry Hill Shopping Center (4223 Providence Road). Light food will be served and beverages will be available to purchase. Please note, this event is for adults only. Click HERE to RSVP.



Charlotte FC Spirit Day

Charlotte Football Club Spirit Day is on Wednesday, October 2. Students are encouraged to show their CLT FC pride by sporting their favorite gear (jersey, shirts or swag)! Students may also wear team colors- blue, purple, black or white. Athletic shorts are permitted. FOR THE CROWN!



Picture Day Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed on both campuses for Picture Day on October 8th from 8am-1pm. Volunteers will help with various tasks such as collecting payment envelopes and organizing lines. Click HERE to volunteer. Please contact Amy Murray with questions.



Walk, Bike & Roll to School

BCE will celebrate National Walk, Bike and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 9. This event is an opportunity for school communities to encourage walking, biking and rolling to school and around your neighborhood which reinforces healthy lifestyles and safe traffic patterns for our youth. All students, including neighborhood and magnet students, are encouraged to participate. For those who do not live in close proximity, use the following school drop-off points:

Billingsville: Walk-up or drop-off by the mobile units in the front parking lot.

Cotswold: Walk-up or drop-off at the digital marquee.


Boy's Choice

On Friday, October 11 from 5-7pm, all BCE boys and their special guest are invited to join us for a night of pumpkin launching, pumpkin painting, petting zoo & obstacle course fun! Drinks, pizza and a fall treat will be provided. Electronic registration and payment via Membership Toolkit is preferred. RSVP by October 4 and "launch" into fall with us!

On the Ballot - NC Superintendent of Public Instruction

On November 5, North Carolina voters will elect the next Superintendent of Public Instruction. The superintendent is the secretary and chief administrative officer of the State Board of Education, the administrative head of the Department of Public Instruction, and a member of the Council of State. The superintendent and State Board of Education make up the leadership of the Department of Public Instruction, which is responsible for implementing the state's public school laws for pre-K through 12th-grade public schools. You can view the CANDIDATE FORUM to guide your decision at the polls.
