Little Things Make a Big Difference
What a difference a day makes! Frigid temps and blustery winds become a balmy Super Bowl weekend!? All of which means that we can bask in the ability to come together for worship in safety and with celebration this Sunday morning. AND, we can add our presence and our voice to the important work that will be done at the Annual Meeting (9:40 am in the sanctuary,) where we will elect new leaders, approve the annual budget, and give thanks that the Holy Spirit has touched the hearts of 7 individuals, (names announced at the meeting,) who have agreed to serve on the Call Committee.

Of course, don’t leave without chili! Whether you eat at church or do take out, the Men’s Mexico Mission Group needs and appreciates your support!!

And while we are safe and warm, this alert came in from Pr. Jeff Sackett of Celebration / Sartell that the extreme weather has placed an unusually high demand for food, clothing, and shelter on SC Place of Hope as well as Salvation Army. (Place of Hope helps over 65 in transitional sheltering and more than 45 in the overflow on mats.)

While the cold will diminish this weekend, their supplies are low or on empty and there is much winter left. So we are being asked to not only pray for them, but do what we can for those who have immediate needs.

Needed: Financial donations to pay for heat, electric, and water, as well as donations of Clothing All Sizes; Snowmobile suits; Coveralls; Snow pants/bibs; Boots; Long Underwear; Flannel shirts; Warm Scarves; Hand/foot warmers; and food supplies, especially coffee, cream, sugar, hot chocolate, fruit; orange juice, eggs, butter, bacon, hamburger, spaghetti sauce, cheese, toilet paper, yogurt, popcorn and just about anything that can be used to serve three meals a day, 7 days a week!   All donations may be brought to Place of Hope, 511 9th Ave N, door #4. Or, s ome are taking advantage of being able to ship supplies straight to them via Amazon or Walmart- a super practical way to help out, too! (Any donations brought to Rejoice this weekend will be taken to Place of Hope. :)
