Cradle the Cross
As the days get shorter and the darkness longer, we begin the season of Advent, remembering as we await the coming of the Savior that the manger not only cradles the Child but also the cross: the hope and assurance of forgiveness and life that is stronger than death. So come! Join us as we wait, worship, and give thanks for the joys of community, of family and friends, and of faith. And as we move through this beautiful season together, let us consider how we might give generously in response to the wondrous gift of God’s love revealed in Jesus - not only for the important work and mission of Rejoice, but for the work and ministry of Christ around the world. (Don’t forget the matching gift of $250 as we prepare for Noisy Offering this week, Dec 2, designated for World Hunger! You can continue to add to this challenge throughout Dec – just leave your gifts in the manger!)

Speaking of waiting and giving, I’m still waiting for the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts of three more individuals (1 male and 2 females,) who would be willing to give the gift of being a mentor for our 8 th grade confirmation students. (Mentoring means a commitment of one Wednesday evening per month, daily prayers for your young person, and other interactions as you see fit!)

Finally, thanks to all involved in the gift of transforming the sanctuary into such a beautiful place of holy waiting and wonder! If there are any families or individuals who would like to share in the lighting of the advent candle each week during worship, please let me know!

Peace,
Pastor Marlene
