Dear Friends,

We live life between two trees: the tree of life in the Garden of Eden and the tree of life in Revelation 22. In between these two trees is where we find ourselves today. What does that mean for our daily living, and how does this affect our life together? That is the focus for our new worship series, Between Two Trees.

This Sunday we look at living in God's promise between these two trees. God promised Abraham numerous descendants, and that God would bless the entire world through them. Living in promise means possessing the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) As the story of Genesis comes to a close, how God would fulfill God's promise could not be anticipated, but over the course of history Israel and followers of Jesus have learned God's promise of life between two trees has never wavered.

My sermons during this series, Between Two Trees, will also serve as part of our confirmation teaching for Wednesday nights. That means, we are all going to confirmation together!!! Confirmation students are expected to view the sermons for each of these Sundays prior to Wednesday night class.

I believe worshipers can finally watch worship Sunday mornings live on YouTube. We begin streaming announcements around 9:20 am, beginning worship at 9:30 am.  They will also be recorded and available on YouTube at your convenience.

Enjoy Living In God's Promise this Week!

Pastor Jim

Affirmation of Baptism

Confirmands will be declaring for themselves that they will live out the promises made for them by their parents and sponsors in their baptism. That is, “… to live with them among God’s faithful people, bring them to the word of God and the holy supper, teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed and the Ten Commandments, place in their hands the holy scriptures, and nurture them in faith and prayer, so that your children may learn to trust God, proclaim Christ through word and deed, care for others and the world God made, and work for justice and peace.”

On that Sunday, we would love to have members join the celebration. It will be especially important to inform Rejoice that you are planning to attend in-person service. Your RSVP for in person worship allows us to better predict how many people we can expect so that we can maintain appropriate social distancing.
