The 3 R's
What can be exhausting but at the same time refreshing, renewing, and restoring? Vacation! (And I thank you for the gift of time away!! And hope that many/all of you will also have an opportunity to get away this summer!)

But another (and more appropriate answer) is community! It takes intentional, hard and
sometimes exhausting work to continue to move forward in faith, trying to discern what’s best and most life-giving for all of us as community together. But we are blessed here at Rejoice that we have committed leaders and members who continue to push us forward and help us recognize that in and through it all, we are being refreshed, renewed, and restored. We are daily becoming the people God needs us to be here in this place.

So in this promise of the 3 “R’s”, and with the recognition that we are no longer the
community we were even a year ago, I encourage you to take time to come and share in
Intentional Conversations – What’s Next? at 10:30 Sunday morning following worship. As the Call Committee continues the process of searching for a new settled pastor, we are called to continue to live into our mission to “love, serve, and grow in Christ.” How we do this in ways that make the best use of our resources is critical right now. You will hear what leadership has been thinking. You will be given opportunity to offer suggestions and ask questions. All of which can be exhausting, but which we trust will also be refreshing, renewing, and restoring as we move forward in the confidence that God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, continues to be at work in and through all of it.

BTW: As part of Mayberry Madness – Proverbs, this week we consider wisdom and what
it means that ‘ God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.’ Hope you can make it!

Peace!
Pastor Marlene

Intentional Conversations - What's Next?
At the June Council meeting, leaders had an intentional conversation about how Rejoice has changed in the last year and what this change means for life together and mission as we move forward. Because this conversation is bigger than just a few people - and because planning for fall needs to happen now ! - the Council is extending an invitation to everyone to join in thinking and reflecting about how we best move forward and live into our mission of loving, serving, and growing in Christ. So please mark your calendars and join the conversation:

Amazing Stories
What’s your favorite bible story? The options are almost endless - which is why we don’t “hear” many of them as part of worship. But now is your opportunity to suggest a scripture passage or story and submit it as a suggestion to be used for worship services in August. Can’t find or don’t remember chapter and verse? No problem. Simply name the story and we’ll take it from there. Suggestion slips (and baskets to receive them,) will be in the gathering area Sunday morning.

Deadline for suggestions is Sunday, July 14. Thanks for your help!

Quick Reference Church Directory
Have you been trying to contact someone and can’t find them is the latest directory? Since it will probably be another couple of years before a new picture directory happens, we are planning to get a Quick Reference Church Directory to you in the near future.

Rhoda Senkler and Becky Brzinski will be around on Sunday mornings with the most current information we have. Please look for them and verify or update your name, address, home/cell phone numbers and email addresses.

Don’t be alarmed if we don’t have your name listed, we are just starting the process. We want to be sure to include everyone with accurate information.
Not One... But Two Chances to Win
We’re ramping things up a little earlier this year. Our Fall Festival Raffle tickets are available NOW. AND there are two raffles instead of one. This earlier availability gives you the opportunity to take some along to sell; on vacation, to family reunions, to family sporting events, to cabin or camping or wherever else you may be heading this summer. Use the portable kit, easy to set up - call the church office at 320.558.6851 for details.

Raffle Number 1: Our traditional $1 per ticket raffle with several amazing prizes. There are 3,000 tickets and we would like to sell them all – for the first time. We have been close, but maybe this is the year we sell them all! As in the past, we would like each Rejoice family to take responsibility for selling/buying at least 10 tickets (or as many as you are able).

AND

Raffle Number 2: A beautiful queen size plus outdoorsy patterned quilt made and designed by Peggy Kortuem for the benefit of Rejoice. There are only 500 ticket for this raffle so chances of winning are greatly enhanced. This is a single prize raffle and tickets are $5 each. See the quilt on display in the Narthex (Celebration Hall). Check it out and take a chance!
p.s. we are also looking for people willing to sell raffle tickets on Sunday mornings. Find the Fall Festival table to sign up to help, and please consider sponsoring or sharing sponsorship of one of our raffle prizes. If you would like to donate items, please call Carol at the Rejoice office, 320.558.6851.

Remember, save the date: Fall Festival, September 29, 2019
Join the Lawn Mowing Team
Join the lawn mowing team! Generally, the lawn crew meets on Thursdays (depending on the weather) throughout the summer months, and gets the grass cut and grounds spiffy in a couple of hours. Mowers, yard tools, and cheerful co-workers are provided. Sign–up sheet is located in Celebration Hall.
Be the Apple of Someone's Eye
Do you have any old specs laying around? Please bring your old eyeglasses for re-use. The collection box is on the Sign Up table.

Thank you,
Sue Severson, Clear Lake Lioness
Clean Your Closet for a Cause
When you are spring cleaning, downsizing , and finally deciding that you will donate those items your family no longer needs, you may bring them to Rejoice. A space is available for your treasures to be stored for the Fall Festival.

The proceeds of sales at Granny’s Attic or the Silent Action will double your satisfaction. You not only organize your home, but also benefit your Rejoice home. You may drop off items Mondays through Thursdays between 8:00-3:30. Please call the church at 320.558.6851 and we will assist you.
Food Shelf
Minnesota summers were made for trips to the cabin, boat rides on the lake, and farmers market outings, not food shelf visits. But that’s the reality for thousands of Minnesotans. Children are home from school and the family budget is tight. You can make a difference this year by donating to the Clearwater - Clear Lake Food Shelf throughout the month of July. The challenge funds will proportionally match your donation. Your financial donation will go further due to our buying power.

The Clearwater - Clear Lake Food Shelf is looking for additional Monday morning helpers. Every Monday the Food Shelf receives a delivery from 2HH (Second harvest) between 9:30–11:00 a.m. Lite/moderate lifting is required. Please contact Karie Monk-Gohman at 320.290.9216 or show up Monday mornings and ask for Susie Brown.
Community Prayers
I f you have a loved one or friend in need of prayer, fill out a   prayer request   or use one of the prayer concern requests located on the Interest table and in the sanctuary welcome pads. The star(*) in front of a name denotes a Rejoice member. This is a dynamic list. Requests will be printed for up to four weeks; call the church office at 320.558.6851 to extend listing. If a name of a friend or loved one has been omitted please resubmit the name and/or concern using one of the prayer concern forms found in the red Welcome Pads in the worship area.
