What's happening

at Christ Church

Holy Week

This Sunday begins Holy Week. Please see the schedule below for the full array of services offered at Christ Church.

PLEASE NOTE: The Palm Sunday service will begin in the Parish Hall.

St. John Passion

There is still time to get tickets for this evening's concert!

Solemn Way of the Cross

Join us on Friday, March 27 at 5:30pm for the Solemn Way of the Cross. This special keeping of the Stations will feature music, incense, and greater ceremony.

Easter Coffee Hour

Everyone is invited to bring a treat to share for a potluck coffee hour following services on Easter Sunday. Also, anyone interested in hosting a coffee hour please keep an eye out for sign-ups coming soon.

Bloodlines of the Slave Trade

A showing of the documentary film Bloodlines of the Slave Trade featuring our own Susanna Grannis will take place at the Kinderhook Library on March 29 at 1pm. This is a very timely and important film, and all are encouraged to attend.

Sacred Ground

Join us for a dialogue series exploring race and racism in the United States. This spiritual journey will consider the roots of racism and its on-going development in discussions supported by video and readings. It is grounded in the examples of Jesus Christ and the power of scripture, prayer, God’s grace, and the Holy Spirit.

As part of Becoming a Beloved Community, an initiative of the Episcopal Church begun in 2019, Sacred Ground holds a vision wherein all people are honored, protected, and nurtured as beloved children of God. Our study will include historical information about indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian American histories as they intersect with European American histories in shaping our country.

This new circle will meet on Sunday evenings starting at 5:30 p.m. After our individual preparations for each session, we will gather for conversations lasting about one hour and a half every other week between May 3 and June 28 and between September 13 and November 22 in 2026. We will begin with an organizational meeting on April 19 via Zoom. Our host will be Christ Church, Hudson. Our conversations will be in person and, if there is a need, also via Zoom. The co-facilitators are The Rev. Jane Brady-Close and Susanna Grannis.

Members and friends of Episcopal churches in the Hudson Valley Deanery (Columbia and Greene counties) are invited to join us.

Committal Service

The mortal remains of Garth Pritzker will be committed to the earth in the Columbarium on Easter Monday, April 6, following the Requiem Mass for the Guild of All Souls at 5:30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Food Donations Needed!

We have seen a significant increase in demand for food from our mini-pantry and are only anticipating that to grow. Please consider donating non-perishable items as soon as possible. Collection boxes will be in the parish hall and the narthex. We will also accept personal hygiene items, baby and adult diapers, and baby food (but not infant formula) as well as monetary donations.

Funds are also available if anyone would like to buy a large amount of food or other items and be fully or partially reimbursed. Please contact the church office if you would like to do this.

Dedications

The Palms are given to the glory of God and in memory of Carolyn Russo

by Philip & Christtine Abitabile

Flowers on the High Altar may be dedicated to loved ones by members of the congregation. Please call the office with the name(s) you wish to commemorate and the Sunday you prefer. A donation is requested; the church provides the flowers.
