Boxes Due This Saturday!

Help us create a "Thanksgiving in a Box" for our Chatham Community Food Distribution. You may click on the flier on the left to print a copy at home and to share with a friend!

Completed boxes (having all 14 items on the list) will need to be dropped off at Chatham United Methodist Church- 460 Main Street. Our collection day of completed boxes will be:

Saturday, November 13^th 10:00 AM - 12 noon.

Please come to the rear parking lot of the church to return your box.

If you wish to make a monetary contribution, checks can be made payable to Chatham United Methodist Church. Please specify COVID Relief fund on the memo line. To donate online, simply scan the QR code in the center square and chose Covid Relief Fund.

This Sunday’s 10:00 a.m. service will include musicians playing music by the Beatles: for our prelude members of the Praise Band will perform In My Life and for our Special Music the Covenant Choir and members of the Ukulele Orchestra will perform Let It Be. 

Members of our Ukulele Orchestra will next meet in person and online on Saturday, November 13^th at 11:00 a.m. in the Asbury Room. The Ukulele Orchestra meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Email Peter Hill at the below email address for our Zoom and in-person info.

Tuesday, November 23^rd 

Annual Chatham Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, 7:30 PM

CUMC Sanctuary sponsored by the Interfaith Council of the Chathams and Green Village. Come join with Chatham friends and neighbors across all faiths and traditions in a celebration of the many blessings we share. The service will feature combined choruses from the Chatham community houses of worship. Please bring a non-perishable food item for donation. The sum of the offering from the service will be donated to the Chatham Emergency Squad serving both Chatham Borough and Chatham Township. Hospitality Volunteers Needed to Welcome our Neighbors!

We need 6-8 volunteers to help usher our guests through our building before the service. Volunteers should arrive at 6:45 PM.

Longtime CUMC member, Dale Sehulster, is trying to get 80 cards sent to Bob Sehulster for his 80^th birthday. Cards can be mailed to

(Bob's birthday is November 15^th but cards can be sent the next couple weeks!)

Temporary Office is up and Running

The church office is now temporarily relocated in the Asbury Room until after Thanksgiving.

All small groups that are affected have been notified if there is a conflict with use of the room. The Asbury Room will still be available for use during the evenings and on weekends. Questions? Just call the office and we will be happy to assist you. If you have a mailbox in the office, you may find it in the Asbury Room starting next week. If there is anything you need from the office staff, just give us a couple days notice to be able to assist you (find what you need in our boxes!) Thank you for your patience!

Family Promise News and Call for Volunteers  

This next hosting week will follow the same pattern as our last week in the summer — delivering home made meals or arranging for restaurant meals to be delivered to the families being housed in hotel. We need help! No contact with the guests is required. Please contact Claudia Shaw (973-454-2014) if you are moved to provide a meal, or donate funds for sorely needed groceries, gas cards or transportation.
