Second Sunday
in Lent

March 1, 2026
 at 9:00am

Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

What's happening

at Christ Church

Guild of All Souls

The Guild of All Souls will celebrate its monthly requiem mass on Monday, March 2 and 5:30pm in the All Saints' Chapel. All current members of the Guild and those interested in joining are encouraged to attend.

Christ Church Arts

Christ Church Arts will host Ukulele Jam Sessions in the Parish Hall on the third Monday of the month at 7:00pm beginning March 16. The sessions will be run by noted local musician Carmen Borgia. Repertoire will be taken from classic folksong, Oldies hits, American songbook standards and more! Bring a music stand. There may be a few extra ukuleles available. All skill levels of players are welcome, and if you just want to come and sing along that's great too!

Christ Church Arts is also thrilled to host River Valley Baroque for a world class performance of J. S. Bach's St. John Passion. Volunteer ushers and helpers are needed and will receive a complementary ticket. Please speak to Fr. Bill or Hannah Milnes if interested.

Lent

The Season of Lent is upon us. Our Lenten programming continues this Friday, February 27 with the Way of the Cross at 5:30pm. Lenten education programs will continue on Wednesdays. Even if you missed the first session you are more than welcome to join! Please note the link below to participate in the evening study via Zoom.

Funeral Services

Burial Rites for Jeanne Poland will be held at Christ Church on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 10:30am.

National Church Survey

The Episcopal Church Task Force on LGBTQ+ Inclusion invites all Episcopalians to take this important survey on LGBTQ+ inclusion and experience in the church. Click below to complete the survey. Thank you for helping us build a Church where all of God's beloved children are truly welcomed, affirmed, and celebrated.

Food Donations Needed!

We have seen a significant increase in demand for food from our mini-pantry and are only anticipating that to grow. Please consider donating non-perishable items as soon as possible. Collection boxes will be in the parish hall and the narthex. We will also accept personal hygiene items, baby and adult diapers, and baby food (but not infant formula) as well as monetary donations.

Funds are also available if anyone would like to buy a large amount of food or other items and be fully or partially reimbursed. Please contact the church office if you would like to do this.

Dedications

There are no flowers during Lent.

Flowers on the High Altar may be dedicated to loved ones by members of the congregation. Please call the office with the name(s) you wish to commemorate and the Sunday you prefer. A donation is requested; the church provides the flowers.

Requiem

It is with great sadness but with sure and certain hope in the resurrection of the dead that we announce the passing of Allyn Van Deusen in Binghamton, New York on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Rest eternal grant to her, O Lord; And let light perpetual shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
