Dear Village Resident ,
Community volunteers worked together to update the concession stand in Spring Grove Park this spring! The project was organized by Randy Vinyard with the Jake Vinyard Foundation, Joe McKeown, and Manusos General Contracting. They purchased the construction material and Manusos's carpenters built the new overhang extension. The roofing and siding material were ordered from Tamko and Aaron Smart and his crew installed it.  Dennis Norton with Northern Lights, Inc., installed the new outdoor lights. The Public Works crew tore out all the old concrete and a new larger patio area was installed. Ray Braden with CDI, Concrete Developers, Inc., ordered the concrete from Point Ready Mix and did all the concrete work.  The bollards were provided by Knoll Steel. Thank you to all involved!

Blast from the Past
This building at 8016 Blivin Street was Joe Wagner's Barbershop and Confectionery store (photo is circa 1920). Ice cream was sold in the front and the barbershop was in the back. Joe served two terms as President of Spring Grove, from 1919-1927. He also served as a trustee from 1938-1947. The building houses apartments today.
