The Village Municipal Centre will be closed today due to the extreme cold. The schools, library and country government are also closed. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors and off the roadways. If you do go out, remember low temperatures significantly reduce the ability of salt to melt snow and ice, particularly during the overnight hours, s o be prepared to encounter slippery spots on roadways. The Spring Grove Fire District station at 8214 Richardson Road is a warming center, open 24/7, if needed.

Save the Date for the Nippersink Middle School Music Department Spaghetti Dinner on February 6 from 5:15 - 7:00 PM and take the night off from cooking! Purchase tickets in advance or at the door. Horse Fair Park Rental Increase
Horse Fair Park rental fees will be going up $20 starting March 1, 2019, for a new resident fee of $200 (non-resident is $380). Plan ahead for your graduation, family reunion or birthday party! View the current rental form . After March 1 rental form .
Richmond Burton Bass Fishing
The Richmond-Burton High School Bass Fishing Team met at Hatchery Park's Visitors Center recently to learn about new baits and techniques. An IDNR Conservation Police Officer discussed the history of the hatchery and fishing rules. They utilized the old indoor raceways to see how different baits react under water. Learn more here .

RBBA T-Ball, Baseball, and Softball

Family Fun Night and Friday Nights Open Gym at WLAC
WLAC is hosting a Family Fun Night on Saturday, February 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Includes open gym, games, Valentine box craft, and a snack. $30 per family. Online registration is available here or call 815-675-3005 for more info. Open Gym is every Friday from 7:00-8:30 PM. This open to the public event is great for kids to be able to burn off some energy. Cost is $7 and a parent/guardian signed waiver is required for each participant. Come join the fun on Fridays! Located at 2449 Pierce Drive.
Parkinson's Support Group
The Parkinson's Support Group Meeting will be held Wednesday, February 6 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at the State Bank of the Lakes located at 1906 Holian Drive. View the flyer for more information. 
Meeting Room Space
The Nippersink Library has two meeting rooms available for use by the community. The large meeting room can accommodate up to 60 people for a lecture set-up and a room that can accommodate up to 12 people. Community, civic and not-for-profit groups can use the meeting rooms free of charge. Other groups including business and for-profit groups have a $25 fee.
