It was part of their badge work for Good Neighbor and the Bicentennial Badge, where they learned about the history of Spring Grove, Spring Grove School and the State of Illinois. The brownies were delivered to thank the Spring Grove Fire Fighters for their services. Visit the Girl Scout's website for more information on scouting.

New residents have 30 days from the time they move in to purchase stickers.
Don't Veer for Deer!
Most deer-vehicle accidents occur from October thru December from 5 - 8 AM and 5 - 10 PM. It's instinctive to swerve out of the way when a deer suddenly darts in front of you, but this can cause you to lose control and cause a more severe crash. If a collision is inevitable, the Illinois Dept. of Transportation says, “try to glance the vehicle off the deer and avoid swerving into the opposite lanes of traffic.” For more safe driving tips during deer-mating season click here .

Skip the Rake & Other Landscape Waste Information
fall leaf
Skip the rake and use your lawnmower to chop your leaves into little pieces to utilize them as nutrients for your lawn. If your mower has a side discharge outlet, where a bag usually goes, just close it up. Research shows that mowing leaves results in less crabgrass and dandelions and an earlier spring green-up. View more information here . Burning of landscape waste is allowed on the weekends in October and November with restrictions . Please consider mowing, composting, disposing of through Groot or landscape collection sites like Thelen Sand and Gravel . View more about the yard waste program .
