Christmas Tree Disposal Options
Christmas trees may be placed out on your garbage collection day for pickup by Groot during the month of January. You can also recycle your tree by bringing it to Glacial Park in Ringwood (off Harts Road & Route 31). The trees are processed into mulch so all decorations must be removed. Branches of your tree can also be used as winter mulch by laying them over your gardens.

Blast from the Past
This is a circa 1905 glass plate photo. It shows blacksmith Nick Klein paying John Karls for a fish he's holding, with an upended crate next to John filled with more fish. Another staged transaction is going on at the end of the porch. Telephone service was extended to Spring Grove from Walter Carey's farm on Wilmot Road in 1897. It looks like this pole had been used as a hitching post and could collapse at any moment! Would you like to ride in that wagon with the fringe on top on a winter/early spring day like this? John Karls' store building still stands at 7709 Blivin but looks quite different. Nick's blacksmith shop at right was replaced later with a brick garage.
