Also on May 7, Trustee Dawn Iselin was awarded a Community Service Award for her time of service and a Resolution was passed honoring Trustee Anhalt (not shown) for his many years of service to the Community.
Memorial Day Ceremony
Before you light up the BBQ grill on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, come help honor and remember those who died while serving in our Armed Forces. The Ceremony starts at 9 AM at Horse Fair Park, located at 8105 Blivin. Afterwards, come to the pavilion for free coffee and donuts donated by the Spring Grove Fire District! On Memorial Day, the National Moment of Remembrance asks Americans to pause at 3 PM for one minute in an act of national unity.

1st Annual Youth Bass Fishing Derby Next Saturday!
The RBCHS Fishing Team, sponsored by the Village of Spring Grove, will hold the 1st annual Youth Bass Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 1 from 8 AM - 12 PM. Anglers must be 15 years old or younger. Prizes for "Big Bass and "Total Size" will be awarded. All $10 Raffle Entry participants will receive a prize. View the flyer with more information here . Click it or Ticket
The Police Department is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation to remind motorists to "Click It or Ticket." Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel and holiday weekends. This seat-belt enforcement campaign highlights the proper use of seat belts and car seats to keep all motorists safe. Officers will be conducting extra enforcement patrols through May 28. Passengers not wearing seat belts will be ticketed, and those caught driving impaired will be arrested. Read more here.
Summer Reading Program
Summer reading programs for adults, teens, and children kick-off on Saturday, June 8 at the Nippersink Library. There will be drawings for prizes and gifts for those who complete the programs. Lots of other fun events and programs for all ages. View the newsletter here .

Toy Drive Wrapping Up Soon
Girl Scout Troop 1935 is organizing a Toy Drive for Lurie’s Children’s Hospital! View the list of items needed and rules and restrictions here . Items can be left in the drop box at the Municipal Centre located at 7401 Meyer Road from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday - Friday through May 31. Thank you!
Wine Tasting Tonight & Judson Brown Band
Tammy's first annual wine tasting is tonight, May 22 from 6 - 8 PM at The Grove Pub and Grill! Complimentary appetizers will also be served. Also - back by popular demand - The Judson Brown Band will be performing tomorrow, Thursday, May 23 from 6:30 - 9:30 PM. Located at 2008 Main Street.

WLAC Summer Camp
WLAC is offering two Summer Camp sessions: Session 1 is 7/29 - 8/2 and Session 2 is 8/5 - 8/9 with full day (9:00-3:30 $230 per session) and half day (9:00-12:00 $115 per session) options available. Member and sibling discounts available. Registration must be received by July 1. Please contact them with questions at 815-675-3005. 
INK 5K is Next Thursday
In addition to the 5K race, there will be bounce houses, music, face painting, basketball, volleyball, raffle baskets & food vendors.Thursday, May 30, at Horse Fair Park. Check in time starts at 5 PM. Race starts at 6:30 PM sharp! More information is available on their website here .
