A note from Vintage

Happy New Year!

As 2023 drew to a close, my wife Kelly and I found ourselves reflecting on the unending faithfulness of the Lord within our immediate family and the vibrant community at Vintage. God miraculously gifted us a beautiful daughter. His healing touch was evident in resolving several family health scares. Vintage continued to mature as a house of prayer, worship, and Christ-centered community. Our needs were not merely met but surpassed! We were (and are) so immensely thankful to be a part of such an incredible ministry team and church family.

While spending time with the Lord over the break, I sensed an invitation: “Will you do more to share these abundant blessings with others?” God’s seeming invitation prompted several questions:

  • Do Kelly and I seek divine guidance with every financial and provisional decision?
  • Are we attuned to the individuals He is prompting us to befriend and give our time and attention to?
  • Is the love of Christ evident in both our words and actions towards the unnoticed and socially alienated?

These reflections ignited a renewed vision for Vintage Kids and Vintage Youth. While our ministries are continuing to grow in worship, teaching, and prayer, a call resounds to delve further into our gratitude and indebtedness to the Lord. At the forefront of my attention is the inclusion and empowerment of disabled and socially challenged students within our gatherings. Currently, we have several students navigating physical blindness, autism, learning disabilities, and other challenges. The aspiration of our team is to establish a Vintage Kids | Buddies Program, which surpasses the mere inclusion of these students but empowers them to be uninhibited disciples of Jesus, championed by their leaders and peers.

Other exciting developments are taking shape, including the expansion of Scriptural studies in Vintage Youth, the formation of parent groups, and the continuation of the Vintage Families Seminars, equipping us—21st-century believers—to confront the prevailing issues of our time. In my daily prayers, a constant theme remains: "Are you sharing your blessings?" I extend the same invitation to you—turn to the Lord and ask Him, “How am I called to share my blessings with others in 2024?”

May the tender love and ever-available peace of Christ be with you,

Dustin Scott
