HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!!
If you are a clergy member or youthworker who knows a rising 10th, 11th, or 12th grader who would be right for this program, now is a good time to talk about this application with them.
This flyer
provides a good overview of the application process and calendar of the year-long commitment.
The Diocesan Youth Council is a group of young people who represent the youth of the Diocese at Diocesan Convention. They plan and run Diocesan youth events and work to make the church a nurturing environment for the spiritual growth of young people in our Christian community. They seek to accomplish this through extending fellowship and hospitality with their fellow youth.

Help support our borderlands missioners
|
|
Those in and around the North Shore have two opportunities upcoming to treat yourself to a night out and support the diocesan youth mission pilgrimage to the borderlands at the same time.
Young leaders Charlie Ives from St. Paul's, Newburyport and Kieron Sharwood from St. John's, Saugus have arranged with restaurants in their communities to help raise money for the Diocesan Las Fronteras trip next month.
About the Trip
August 9-16, 2019, seven young people and three adults will head to US/Mexico borderlands region in and around Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora. There they will visit the migrant trail, meet with Border Patrol agents, visit a detention center, and work with Cruzando Fronteras, a ministry of the Diocese of Arizona, which is caring for nearly a thousand asylum-seekers awaiting their asylum interview. The teens will do whatever is most needed—rehabbing facilities, helping to prepare and serve meals, entertaining children, etc. Whatever they do, it will include conversations with migrants to better understand their stories.
Charlie Ives says, “This trip is important to me because I find so much value in experiencing a human element and real stories in order to push for change and educate people at home with firsthand stories that I wish to collect and bring back.”

Youth Ministry Podcast
from Diocese of Atlanta
|
|
In September of 2018, the Office of Youth Ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta launched a Podcast for Youth Workers. The purpose of the Podcast is to provide spiritual nourishment and formation for those working with youth in the Episcopal Church. We hope to accomplish this through the vision of providing a topic each episode from 3 different perspectives of those working with Episcopal youth in the Diocese of Atlanta and elsewhere.
The three hosts--two full-time lay youth ministers and one full-time priest--come from a different background of Youth Ministry in the Episcopal Church. To date, the monthly podcasts have covered everything from working with parents to Sunday School, mission trips, and updated Safeguarding policies. The list includes a mix of discussions among the three practitioner hosts (with tales of struggle as well as success) and interviews with national leaders in the church and in youth ministry.
