Dear Friends,
I invite you today to this breath prayer from the Synod Journey curriculum, “Grounded in Community.” This session looks at the story of Ruth and Naomi in Ruth 1:1-18. Ruth says to Naomi, “Where you go, I will go.” Ruth’s commitment to stay with Naomi through difficult times is a lesson to us in self-sacrifice and the power of being grounded in community…and a reminder of our boundless God’s commitment to relationship with us.
(Take a few breaths to center yourself)
As you breathe in the words “Where you go” and breathe out the words “I will go,” – give thanks for the gift of community, for the people that stay with you.
(Take a minute to breathe and give thanks)
As you continue to breathe in and out, “Where you go, I will go” – be reminded that this is God’s promise to you. God promises that where you go God will be.
(Take a minute to breathe and remember God’s promise)
On your last few breaths in and out – who is God calling you to journey with through pleasant and difficult times?
(Take a minute to breathe and consider the community God is calling you to)
Amen.
Together in Christ,
