The Synod Journey
to the 2018 ELCA Youth Gathering!

Registration opens September 18th!
Some helpful reminders and tips as you prepare to register:
- If you are coming on the Synod Journey, DO NOT register with the ELCA Youth Gathering! We take care of that for you!
- There are two parts to registration: Online Forms and Printed Forms.
- You can start filling in the online portion of registration now! This must be completed before you mail your printed registration.
- Registration opens September 18th (post-marked) and closes September 25th. We encourage congregations to postmark their material September 18th.
Here's a checklist of what you need to have in order to be registered:

Fall Adult Leader Trainings!
Adult leaders on the Synod Journey are required to attend a Fall Training event, to help prepare you and your group for this rich and meaningful faith experience!
Saturday, Oct. 7, 9:30am - Noon: Virginia
Sunday, Oct. 8, 2:00-4:30pm: Brainerd
Sunday, Oct. 15, 2:00 - 4:30pm: Cloquet
These trainings are free, but it is helpful if you pre-register.

NE MN Synod Confirmation Summit

You know faith formation is critical. And you know confirmation holds a significant seat at that table. But what strategies bear the most fruit in this changing culture? What can we learn from the latest research and each other, for the sake of faith formation in our young people? Join us for presentations from The Confirmation Project research and discussion on how this research can inform our approach to faith formation in the congregation.

Tune Up Day!

First Lutheran Church, Duluth
Too often we get so focused on what is next, we forget to look at the big picture. Why are we doing what we are doing? what can we learn from others? What tweaks do we need to make now that fall programming is under way? This is a guided day to "tune up" your program year with the collective wisdom of others in ministry. You are encouraged to bring a team!

Middle School Gathering

The Middle School Gathering brings together nearly 1000 youth and adults from across our synod to grow in faith and build new friendships, while digging into confirmation teachings in a unique way! The event includes a keynote speaker, band, large group assemblies, learning clusters, family time, hotel life and worship.
The focus for this year's Middle School Gathering is The Lord's Prayer. The Lord's Prayer teaches us that prayer is about our relationship with God, with each other and with ourselves. God invites us to pray whenever we can, wherever we are, about whatever is on our mind. Prayer is a way of life. This Middle School Gathering, be equipped and inspired to pray ALL the Time!
