We are excited to have kicked off our annual Youth Leadership Academy summer programming at the City of Temecula's first CultureFest. The event encouraged families to explore the diversity within our community.
As an event partner, The Empowerment Center did what we do best: provided mental health and resilience-building resources. Families received resources for ensuring child safety, positive character development, and tips to build generational resilience.
We'd like to give a special shout-out to our youngest ambassador Micah for speaking with Mayor Pro Tem Zak Schwank! We are grateful to live in a city where our elected officials collaborate with the nonprofits and community members in order to create an environment where all feel safe and welcome.
Check out our summer programming below! We'd love to see you there!
Rising with you,
Teresse Lewis, LCSW
Executive Director
Temecula's CultureFest was particularly special to us as the vision stemmed from our Founder, Tiffany Baker's time of public service as the Chair of Temecula's inaugural REDI (Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) Commission.
Tiffany's belief is that children should see themselves represented in their community. She was honored to serve on the REDI Commission and is happy to see this vision come to pass and that the children were impacted through this event.
Family University Returns This Fall!
We are excited for another innovative year of parenting, community and empowerment with the Temecula Valley Unified School District.
We look forward to providing more resilience-building parenting classes through interactive virtual sessions in the 2022-23 school year!
