June Update

Dear youth and families,

We miss each of you and look forward to seeing each of you when it's safe to be together again! Christ Church is committed to keeping our families safe so this brochure is to let you know about the digital options we will be offering this summer. As we have more information about in person gatherings, we will let you know! This summer we will be offering a high school hangout and a middle school meet-up each week, and then several other exciting things like a spirit week which includes family activities and youth group activities! Our goal is to offer opportunities you can choose when, and if, you are able. We aim to be a source of comfort, not another burden or demand. Participate in as much as you are able and know that we are here to support your youth and family! Also know that everyone is always welcome, pets, younger siblings, and friends!

Christ Church Youth Summer 2020

Weekly Digital Offerings for our youth

Middle School Meet-Up (rising 6 ^th -8 ^th graders) : begins on Sunday, June 14, and will meet Sunday afternoons, June-July, at 4:00 PM on Zoom. We will have time for fun and games and will learn each week about a new Saint.

High School Hangout (rising 9 ^th -graduated Seniors) : begins on Wednesday, June 17, and will meet on Wednesday evenings, June-July, at 8:00 PM on Zoom.

We will have time for fun and games as we journey through the book of Romans.

Leadership Opportunities:

Acolyte Ministry opportunity:

Calling all 7 ^th – 12 ^th graders! We invite you to join the Acolyte Ministry at Christ Church. Acolytes are incredibly important and vital in helping lead worship at many Sunday services, Christmas, and weddings. New and returning acolytes will have an opportunity for a training session where we will answer all questions. For questions, contact Gayle Saylors at 864.430.8218.

Student Leadership Team ((SLT) at Christ Church

We have opened applications for the 2020-2021 school year. The Student Leadership Team or (SLT) is made up of high school students who attend Christ Church Episcopal. The Student Leadership Team is responsible for assisting with planning, participating, and serving as a leader to the Middle School ministry programs at Christ Church.

The decision to serve on this team is a responsibility and a commitment. We will spend time together in community learning about Christ modeled student leadership, supporting one another, and learning how to facilitate and lead others. In addition to attending the Middle School EYC, the SLT group will have scheduled meetings throughout the year for training, time in community, and leadership development. Application deadline: Friday, June 17, 2020.
