Farewell & Best Wishes to India Gleason

Dear Chamblee First UMC Family,

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the resignation of India Gleason as our Director of Youth Ministry. After three impactful years with us, India has decided to step down and embark on a new journey in LaGrange, Georgia.

India joined us with a passion and dedication that has profoundly influenced not only our youth but our entire church community. Her passion for our Youth and heartfelt sermons have been invaluable, especially during times when our pastors were away. We will certainly miss her inspiring presence and insightful messages.

India is moving to LaGrange, Georgia to join her fiancé, Baley, who has accepted a position as the pitching coach for the baseball team at LaGrange College, where both India and Baley are proud alumni. We are thrilled to share that India will begin a new role as the Assistant Director of West Georgia United Youth with Community First UMC and the Assistant Director of the Wesley Foundation of The University of West Georgia.

India’s last Sunday with us will be on July 20th, where we will take time to celebrate her and wish her well for her next chapter. India will continue to help with VBS, Youth Mission Trip, and Summer Youth programming throughout June and July. As we prepare for her departure, please join us in expressing our deepest gratitude for all she has contributed to our church. We are incredibly thankful for the love, energy, and spiritual guidance she has shared with our Youth and wish her all the best as she transitions to her new roles.

During this period of transition, we ask you to keep India, Baley, and our youth ministry in your prayers. Let us pray for a smooth transition as they settle into their new life in LaGrange and for our congregation as we work through this transition.

Our Staff-Parish Relations (SPR) committee is actively working on a transition plan and seeking to identify the best candidate to fill the Director of Youth Ministry. We will keep you updated as we progress in this process.

Thank you, India, for all that you have done for our church. We look forward to celebrating your achievements and sending you off with warm blessings.

Many Blessings,

Brittany Dunlap
