Dear St. John’s Youth Families,

Join us this week for EYC and Sunday School!

St. John's EYC

Sunday, October 11th| Lowry Room

Middle School (6th–8th) 5–6:30 p.m.

High School (9th–12th) 6–7:30 p.m.

EYC is back this Sunday! This year, we are meeting in the Lowry Room, for a more homey youth group feel (including beanbags and floor cushions).

In preparation for our upcoming Sandwich Sunday (sponsored by EYC), the Youth Ministry will be decorating lunch bags!

This week, our Middle School group will be learning how to learn from mistakes. The High Schoolers will be learning a lesson from Acts Chapter 12 on the power of Prayer. Join us for games, a lesson, raffle, and dinner. We welcome you to invite your friends!

Feeding Tampa Bay

Saturday, October 17th 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Our group will be helping to sort food in the Feeding Tampa Bay warehouse. Email Ayana at agrady@stjohnstampa.org to reserve your spot! We may need to cancel our shift if we don't get sign-ups THIS week!

St. John's Sunday School

Middle School Sunday School (Led by Bob Alter and Hugh Cruse) will meet in Room 205

High School Sunday School (Led by Leland Baldwin and Kate Wood) will meet in the Upstairs Innovation Room

All Sunday School students and teachers will go first for Communion, and then come into the side hallway for check-in and nametags.

St. John's Fall Festival

Sunday, October 25th 3 p.m. Parish Hall

Our annual Pumpkin Painting Party is being reimagined this year as a Fall Festival! Join us in and around the Parish Hall on Sunday, October 25th for games like Bobbing for Apples, crafts, hay rides, and (of course) Pumpkin Painting.

Our friends from Cornerstone Kids will be joining us as well, so come and make new friends!

Youth, we will sign for 3 service hours—so contact Ayana to volunteer.

We also have a Wish List below, if you'd like to help us with supplies. Thanks for your generosity!

EYC Dinners & Helpers

Thank you to the Collier family for providing this Sunday's EYC Dinner!

Sharing a meal together is one of the best parts of EYC. Each parent is asked to provide dinner once per semester. Meals should serve 20–25 people, include dessert, and offer a veggie option; nut-free when possible. Drinks and paper products are provided, and you are welcome to team up with another family.

Please sign up with the link below to provide a dinner for November-May!

Thanks for your help!

EYC Calendar/Forms

Parents! If you haven't already, please download our Fall Calendar, and fill out our 2026-27 Release Form (both below).

We Want to Cheer You On!

Do you have an upcoming game, performance, or competition—whether it’s sports, dance, academics, or something else? Let us know! We’d love to come out and support you.

A Prayer for Young Persons

God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP, pg 829)
