Youth Ministry Update: October

  • Youth Group Small Groups. This year, youth group will focus around short small group gatherings of up to four teens.
  • Some groups will meet in person, provided they follow these guidelines.
  • Other groups will meet virtually via zoom.
  • You can choose your own groups or we can help get you connected with a group.
  • Email Me with your small group, or your request to be put in a group.
  • When we have the groups, we will arrange meeting times and leaders (two virtus trained, non-related adults, must be present for each group's meeting). We'll start meeting by the end of the month.
  • Our plan is to have groups meet for about 20 minutes weekly.
  • For more information on small groups click here.

  • Confirmation. Confirmation Teens in 10th grade and above will also be meeting in Small Groups of up to four teens. Additionally, Confirmation Teens will have formation and longer online lessons specific to Confirmation Formation.

  • Confirmation Orientation. October 17th or 18th at 3pm - choose one
  • Parents and Teens should be on one or the other zoom call.
  • A replay will be available on YouTube after the 18th.
  • Click here for the October 17th 3pm zoom call.
  • Click Here for October 18th 3pm zoom call.

  • Pray for our Country.
  • Novena for the Election: Joining the USCCB and Catholics around the country, we will be participating in this nine day prayer. You can do the super simple version of the prayer: one Our Father, One Hail Mary, and Glory Be for the day's intention. Or you can pray a full rosary each day. Daily intentions can be found at the link above.

  • Pumpkin Smash. Email me if you're interested.
  • Are you interested in a socially distanced pumpkin smashing on the afternoon of November 1st?
  • Our friends at Bon Air Methodist Church on Buford Road have offered us as many free pumpkins as we'd like to pickup the night of October 31st starting after 6pm. If there is enough interest, we will gather on the blacktop on the afternoon November 1st to have some socially distanced fun by throwing those pumpkins in the air and watching them explode. So cathartic. It's also a good opportunity to ask the saints to intercede for us and to talk about All Souls Day on November 2nd. Time TBA.
God Bless,

Dan Harms
