A NOTE FROM BOBBY PATTON, DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY

Hello Christ Church Family!

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! We will not be sending out Youth News for the rest of 2024, so there are a few things that I'd like for you to mark on your calendar.

First of all - please note our Youth Group kickoff date for 2025: Sunday, January 12. We are actually starting back on Sunday evenings before Youth Music resumes later in the month (January 26). Entry will be at Door 9, and those doors do not open until 5:45 pm.

Second - we are going to be having a parent-only meeting on Sunday, January 5 from 6 - 7 pm in the Youth Center. This meeting is going to cover many things, including the summer mission trips, the upcoming retreats and the Youth Fundraiser. The meeting is not required, but it would be very helpful if at least one parent from each family is represented.

And finally, Laudate Winter Retreat and Winter Blitz are just around the corner, and both take place the exact same weekend. These are powerful bonding experiences and I highly encourage students to attend. Registration is open for both - you can find those links below.

Laudate Winter Retreat 2025

Laudate is hosting its annual Winter Retreat on January 24-25! Join us for two days of food, fun, fellowship, and opportunities to sing for several organizations around the Louisville metro area. Check-in begins Friday evening at 6 pm for an overnight stay at the church. Please pack a sack lunch for Saturday, and we'll wrap up back at church by 2 pm. This event is FREE! Questions? Winter Blitz

Join us for this KY Methodist annual retreat - a time for youth from all around the state (6th -12th grades) to connect, worship and grow in God's love. This year, Broadway United Methodist in Bowling Green will host. Register here!

Confirmation 2025

Calling all 8th graders! Confirmation is an important milestone in one's spiritual life. It's an exciting time of exploring, learning and discerning what it means to be a Christian and a United Methodist. Youth participating learn and practice ways to keep growing in faith and how to live into the vows taken during Confirmation. Here are some important dates so please mark your calendars:

• Parent Meetings (2 Options) - January 12 or January 15
• Confirmation 101 Retreat - February 21 - 22
• Weekly Small Groups - February 23 - April 6 (Not March 30)
• Closing Retreat and Rehearsal - April 11 - 12
• Confirmation Sunday - Palm Sunday, April 13

Next Summer's Mission Trip

We are partnering once again with GO Ministries to travel to the Dominican Republic from June 24 - July 1, 2025 and we are inviting our youth and their families, as well as anyone in the congregation to participate! Estimated cost is $2200 a person and includes GO Ministries fee, airfare, one bag, and trip insurance. Please contact Mike Porter with any questions. You can sign up for the trip here!
