A NOTE FROM BOBBY PATTON, DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY

Hello Christ Church Family!

Although I love Halloween, I’m super excited to turn the page tomorrow to a new month! And with November upon us, I realize that Advent is just around the corner, which will give us several opportunities for students and families to get involved together.

The season of Advent begins Sunday, December 1, and Christ Church is celebrating with something new this year—ADVENTure Begins! More details to come, but we’ll be looking for youth volunteers of all skill sets to help make it a success. Then, later that week on Friday, December 6, we’re hosting an Interactive Live Nativity! Sign-ups will be available soon for those interested in wearing costumes and assisting with the animals.

As a reminder, there will be no Sunday evening Youth Group on December 1 and 8, so students can enjoy time with family during Advent. On the 8th, we’ll hold our first Christmas Concert at 5 pm, and we’d love to have plenty of students (and families, if possible) there to welcome our guests. We have a need for both ushers - sign up here and greeters - sign up here. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Lastly, don’t forget that Winter Blitz is set for January 24-25. We’ll need parent volunteers to join us, so if you’re interested, please reach out to me by email.

Join us for gaming, doing homework or just hanging out - whatever you need! Wednesday nights, 6 - 7:30 pm in the Youth Center.

Laudate Winter Retreat 2025

Laudate is hosting its annual Winter Retreat on January 24-25! Join us for two days of food, fun, fellowship, and opportunities to sing for several organizations around the Louisville metro area. Check-in begins Friday evening at 6 pm for an overnight stay at the church. Please pack a sack lunch for Saturday, and we'll wrap up back at church by 2 pm. This event is FREE! Questions? Confirmation 2025 - Save the Dates!

Calling all 8th graders! Confirmation is an important milestone in one's spiritual life. It's an exciting time of exploring, learning and discerning what it means to be a Christian and a United Methodist. Youth participating learn and practice ways to keep growing in faith and how to live into the vows taken during Confirmation. Registration will be coming soon! Here are some important dates so you can go ahead and mark your calendars:

• Parent Meetings (2 Options) - January 12 or January 15
• Confirmation 101 Retreat - February 21 - 22
• Weekly Small Groups - February 23 - April 6 (Not on March 30)
• Closing Retreat and Rehearsal - April 11 - 12
• Confirmation Sunday - Palm Sunday, April 13
